Maybe the squirrels are our versions of monkeys & I don't like monkeys.Patio Postcardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04491809927236242223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3284434809316161095.post-7597746278895425642017-09-02T06:17:40.555-04:002017-09-02T06:17:40.555-04:00Thanks for dropping by. Black walnuts aren't for eating by people.Patio Postcardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04491809927236242223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3284434809316161095.post-39782083601766081122017-09-02T04:21:19.882-04:002017-09-02T04:21:19.882-04:00I thought it was monkey to begin with. They take the nuts from our walnut tree and eat them or plant them in my flower pots. They may look cute but they drive me mad!Share my Gardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08817611851604816123noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3284434809316161095.post-47487281150852382922017-09-01T09:01:08.618-04:002017-09-01T09:01:08.618-04:00He is a naughty one for sure. This morning we watched him leap & miss about 4 times before he realigned & was successful. We are doing mind battles with this one - he's crafty!Patio Postcardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04491809927236242223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3284434809316161095.post-22619719121973742872017-08-31T22:52:08.538-04:002017-08-31T22:52:08.538-04:00Oh what a bummer & nuisance! Most of our feeders are "squirrel-proof" and seem to work well. No black squirrels here, only gray ones.Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05510788797735066383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3284434809316161095.post-38128330436641295042017-08-31T14:26:00.538-04:002017-08-31T14:26:00.538-04:00The reds & blacks are native to our area, the ...The reds & blacks are native to our area, the grey is not but here to stay. We have decided that we will not throw peanuts for them anymore (except for Charlie but he's old & probably our last winter with him). Even the chipmunks are getting too much - they have dug up 3 of my pots. I know the season is winding down but there's at least another month to enjoy patio pots. Yes the word eradication is quickly becoming a word I am using!Patio Postcardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04491809927236242223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3284434809316161095.post-71117553634932071072017-08-31T14:22:14.439-04:002017-08-31T14:22:14.439-04:00We have given some thought to the metal ones, but ...We have given some thought to the metal ones, but then the winter is so harsh on them. We have a pole that has a squirrel baffle on it & ready to go into the ground - I will not give up my bird feeders as we SO enjoy the many birds. Mr Black maybe a native but he needs to go find something else to chew on!Patio Postcardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04491809927236242223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3284434809316161095.post-60951287667621858692017-08-31T13:54:55.660-04:002017-08-31T13:54:55.660-04:00Naughty boy. We also use metal feeders - they can't chew through the ones we have -thank goodness.JoAnn ( Scene Through My Eyes)https://www.blogger.com/profile/12621061028973446378noreply@blogger.com
