Me On Monday - November 2nd

The empty, the barren patio - bye bye until next year
Linking in with Sian & the other Monday Ladies.http://fromhighinthesky.blogspot.ca/

This weekend & past week were very full days.  On this past Sunday we turned our clocks back an hour, although that "extra" hour didn't really feel extra / My month of Thankful Thursdays wrapped up. What a wonderful exercise,  hoping that I didn't sugar coat too much. / Mother Nature is really letting us know that Autumn's days are numbered & she wants to bring in Winter.  There's that bitchy chill in the wind & air that says snow any day now /  a lady, who I part boarded her horse a few years back, called to let me know that Bud, show name Carlow's Pride, had reached a point where his legs wouldn't hold him up any more without pain & she had decided to let him go - it is SO sad saying goodbye; I fed him lots of apples & carrots.  All those things being said about the right thing, still don't make it easier to say good bye /  very excited to hear Adele's new song release - she is a talent! / Enya is also releasing new CD - another talent! /  I have completed the staff photo wall at work & while I am no Karsh, everyone is pleased with their photo & my labelling of name & job title - all those scrapping skills & stash have come into play / I have completed my 2015 December Daily title page & calendar sheet / ordered tickets for the Christmas ballet, a traditional version of the Nutcracker, The Royal Ballet will be streamed live via satellite from Europe.  Last year we saw the Bolshoi Ballet's version of the Nutcracker live from Moscow - it was brilliant / got a free Saturday play ticket on the Wednesday night lottery draw - won nothing, but oh I did enjoy that hope / the rain held off Saturday night until 7:30p for the Tick or Treators - we got 39 kids that came a calling - the cutest was a little person as a pirate.  Over all the costumes weren't that great - the teens just smear black over their face - I think when they get to be 12yrs + , it is pushing it for this game / exciting F1 race in Mexico - well done Nico /    Looking forward to the week ahead, so thanks Monday to the introduction to your friends.

  1. What a lot you fitted in ... Sorry to hear about the farewells - always sad :(. But wey-hey for welcoming all those little people at your door! That chill wind does not sound nice at all, and it's usually what we would be having over here. Hoping you have the thermals handy :).

  2. Sending hugs for your sad farewell. We don't generally get trick and treaters here but I was away for the weekend and for the first time in ages got a chance to be Halloweeny and dress up. Enjoy your ballet - I usually go the ballet just before Christmas each year with my Mum but we can't do it this year as we will be away - instead we will be seeing Blood Brothers in January - something to look forward to in those dark gloomy months, it is one of my favourite musicals. Have a great week and I hope that snow holds off a bit longer for you.

    1. It was my pleasure Karen to read your posts - there are a lot of card makers in the Monday wavers group. It inspires me to give it a try. But how do you let such beautiful cards go?

  4. Sad to hear about Bud. You do get a lot of trick and treaters in your area. Sounds like your winter will be with you soon. Keep warm and enjoy your week.

    1. Thanks Barbara - it was funny how quickly the weather changed into a lovely day ... I will be thankful for it because November is usually dull & dank.

  5. love your red mums! the patio doesn't even look like the same place (looks as if you will have a lot of sweeping to do (me to)). As to snow, I like it but don't know if I could cope with the extended snowy seasons you have. Though I suppose Canada is better geared up that we are.

    1. Oh Lady Ella just for you I am going to take a photo of the leaves that are lying under the trees - we have so many trees that in the end this year we need to hire someone to come & rake up to take away. Canada does have lots of the big snowplows, the sand, the salt, the brine that gets spread before ice storms but every storm you'd think it was the first time anyone drove in snow!

  6. So sad about Bud, knowing it is the right thing doesn't make it any easier. The red flowers are gorgeous and the ballet sounds fabulous - enjoy it! x

    1. Thanks Louise. Those red Mums were a hardy pot, they have been going & going. I really do enjoy the grace & beauty of the ballet - I have always wanted a tutu.

    1. Thanks Sandra. It is hard being a responsible owner/carer of such wonderful creatures. I guess they give us so much that in the end we have to give so much back with releasing them.

    1. Thanks Maggie, I knew you would have experienced. I have had to do this with two of my own horses & I still grieve for them. The comfort I take from all of this, is what a supportive community I am part of. We rally when needed.

    1. You are very welcome. We have had a change of Mother Nature's plan for winter - these last few days have been summer like & very welcomed.

  11. Having a little catch up today. Technology issues (along with general busyness!) have kept me from blogging and visiting. Enjoy the Nutcracker. My girl was lucky enough to see it in London a couple of years ago as a special school trip and she loved it. Thanks for your kind comments on my cards yesterday.

    1. So glad you visited. I am sure those drop off / pick up drives are eating up a lot of time. Hope you get some time to relax & make more beautiful cards.

  12. Yes it is so difficult even when you know it's for the best. (: Sounds like the weekend was a very full one. I wonder how many reading this will get the reference to Karsh (what a master!). Hope you had better luck last night - I haven't checked our ticket yet.
