This Monday sees me very ready to put the last week behind me. It was a terrible, horrible week. I am grasping at threads for the Thankfuls, which must be there.
Rose Huts On |
In spite of events, the weather was unbelievable in balminess - we set record temperature highs for this time of year - one day it was +21(c) / three days of walking outside with just a T-shirt & jeans! / when cutting back my rose bushes I got a thorn stuck under my skin - ouch - thank goodness for old wives remedies - Epsom salts to draw out the thorn / all the rose huts are on, my beauties protected against snow & maundering bunnies /
Three Cedar Sisters |
the 3 cedars sisters are all wrapped in new burlap hoods & tied with red bows to protect against the winter winds / I ate too many jube jubes / happy mail, received my gift from Deb at Paper Turtle / attempting to make, my first mandala / I filled my bird feeder with mixed seed for all the little birds staying for the winter / with such mild weather the chipmunks are still about so I'm still tossing peanuts / The grasses have developed their beautiful feather tassels & they make such a pretty sight when the wind blows through them /an amazing Universe at work moment; lost the cap & strap from my camera while out photographing the farmer turning over the field behind us, the cap strap was too close to the end, the extreme wind blew it off & I could not find in the leaves; Mr Man came out to help me find, no luck, SO annoyed with my carelessness; late
Farmer Turning Over Field For Next Year's Crop |
Bird Feeder Filled & Ready For Diners |
What was terrible about the week? A very dear friend's brother ended his life / I hurt because the people I care about are utterly devastated / there are no words / the next day a friend's Mother passed away, which has knocked her back for six / it was a week of funeral arrangements & services.
So Monday I welcome you with a renewal of hope & anticipation.
Grasses By The Patio |
what a week - hope you keeping strong and have a good week this week
ReplyDeleteThanks Helena. I am having a few moments, but my friends need me so they can lean.
DeleteSorry to hear your sad news. Such things are hard to understand. I love your preparations for the winter in your garden. I too am always dropping my lens cap. Once it was a week before I found it outside!
ReplyDeleteI use to lose caps that is why I can the strap kind, but it seems that it too can get pulled off & fairly easily. Drats!
DeleteI love the story of how you found your camera cap! <3 And so sorry to hear about your friend's brother. :o(
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb, it was one of those amazing Universe moments. I really enjoy them.
DeleteI'm sorry to hear of the losses in your week. It's very sad...
ReplyDelete..wishing you all good things for this week. I hope there's a bit of light relief in there for you
Thanks Sian. His family is having a really difficult time understanding why, not sure anyone can or will ever understand why. I am staying with trying to find positive things, I know it can/will be found.
DeleteOh, my sympathies Mary-Lou, to you and your friends. Look after yourself as you take care of your friends. xx
ReplyDeleteDelanie
Thanks Delanie. Just listening is all I can offer right now for both friends in their different grief.
DeleteWell done on your chores and garden winter preparation. Glad you found the lens cap! As to the rest, how truly awful. Sadly, I too have experience of this but nothing I can usefully impart to you. I'm sure you will do all you can to support each other. Thinking of you and wishing you all the best. (I'll reply to your e-mail very soon.) xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Lady Ella. I was very surprised at the stats of suicide, it is a very sad statistic. My garden what ever the season, a refuge & I take my friends there.
DeleteSo sorry to read of your losses this past week. Tough times for everyone. I love the little story of the lens cap. Be kind to yourself x
ReplyDeleteThanks Fiona. I think when friends share in grief, it is an absolute gift to both. My lens cap recovery reminds me about even the littlest gift the Universe gives, can be big bright spot.
DeleteSo sorry to hear of your losses. That's a lot to deal with in just one week. Your burlap wrappings are the prettiest I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen. I keep reminding my self that I am just one of the outside ripples of a large drop in the pond. I can not image the size of grief for my friend & the direct family.
DeleteMy sympathy's to you and your friends. Two difficult blows so close together is hard to overcome. I hope the week brings you some smiles and cheer.
ReplyDeleteLove how you've protected your plants, they look so smart.
Thanks Louise. My friend's brother was part of our social circle so it does ripple out in a dual sort of way. His two kids are young & understanding is going to be a slow journey for them.
Deleteso sorry for your losses.x x it's so hard when we loose someone.
ReplyDeleteThanks Louise. October & November have been / are being months with too many losses surrounding me. I have had enough (said loudly enough so the Universe heeds me).
DeleteSo sorry to hear such sad news... death can send us reeling, and those people left behind. I hope your friends are comforted knowing that others care.
ReplyDeleteAs for your camera cap and strap - amazing! We should listen to our intuition more often. So glad you found it.
Thanks Sandie. My intuition is usually pretty good, I just have to stop to listen more often. I think the lesson in the lost / found cap & strap was pay attention; I should have had the strap loop further back on the lens but I was in a rush to get out then for "that" shot. :-)
DeleteI am sad to read of such distress and pain for you and the people you care about; I hope you will be able to find a way forward together, and will be thinking of you ... And what a wonderful find - isn't it amazing that your intuition, to which you listened, led to the spot and there seems something very truthful about needing silence to hear ...
ReplyDeleteThanks Alexa. My friends will be attending a grief group for the families of suicide, which I think will be their way forward. I had another amazing quiet moment of intuition today; really makes me want to practice more of the unplugging, silence.
DeleteSo sorry about your friends. Yes the weather has been lovely but I fear that has come to an end- woke up to a skim of snow on the lawn. Well I wouldn't mind snow on Christmas but that's it. :) How wonderful you found your lens cap.
