Oh Monday, you & your six friends have travelled in quite a blur this week.
Our new 8 foot fence has been installed to ensure some patio privacy. The upcoming tulips & daffodils closest to the fence were rather trampled under foot & equipment but it is the price to pay for the installation. I am hoping that they will grace the garden next spring. In the foreground, the large flat rocks & stones are part of our water feature. Once the trellis are reinstalled & the clematis climbs up them, the fence won't look so bare.

The fence builders brought their dog, Jake, a Golden Retriever, with them both days & both days Jake would wait patiently in one of the patio chairs for them to take a break, or he would stare in through our patio screen door as he had seen the cats & spent some of the time hoping that the fur girls might just come out to play. The girls took one look at Jake & said, stupid boy & walked away. I thought Jake was a lovely visitor.

While I search for a pause in time button, I hope everyone has a marvelous week ahead.
What a cute canine assistant! Fence looks very smart and those bulbs will look beautiful against it next year.
ReplyDeleteThanks Debs - I am not sure how much Jake helped other than to relieve stress, which is quite an undertaking :)
DeleteJake looks adorable and yes please on one of those time pause buttons (an undo one would be good at times too!). have a great week
ReplyDeleteI think a pause button that allows 1 hour pauses but no more than 12 hours per year.
DeleteI could definitely do with a button here: by the end of the week the holidays will be over and everyone will be back at work. Though I guess on the minus side, if I pressed it I'd be holding back the arrival of the summer holidays.
ReplyDeleteThe fence is looking very smart indeed!
Wishing you a great week ahead.
Oh I certainly don't want to delay summer's arrival in anyway ...
DeleteYour fence is very nicely done and I like the glimpse of the stonework at its foot. it'll be a great foil for plants ... Your comments on your cats and Jake made me smile - they can be so supercilious, our feline friends!
ReplyDeleteThe big flat rocks were once part of our pond, but the pond was a lot of work so it got filled in with the large stones & is now the base of a water feature.
DeletePoor Jake looks so plaintive in that last photo. "Anybody want to throw me a ball..?"
ReplyDeleteThe few times I went out to check on the fence's progress & take photos, Jake was very interested in pats & fussing, I did offer an old tennis ball, but he said no, just pat me & love on me ... of course it might have been different had it been his ball.
DeleteJake is quite the handsome fellow; not surprised your furry friends weren't interested in playing, though. It's a beautiful fence, and I'll look forward to seeing the clematis this summer.
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen, the blank canvas of the fence is getting my gardening juices going - I am think tall plants not just climbers ... oh the possibilities are great.
DeleteThe fence looks like a good job. Those bulbs will soon spring back. Jake looks a handsome chappie. Now my cat Socks woebegone out there sharing his chair!
ReplyDeleteBella the old next door cat does like to sit in this chair when it's on the circle patio down in the garden & sunshine. I wonder if Jake could have smelt Bella on that chair ??
DeleteThe new fence looks great - enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, so far it's great. :)
DeleteI am sure your new fence will give you plenty of privacy.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can picture the beautiful clematises climbing up your new fence by your water pond...such a lovely vision...especially since we got snow this morning.
I thought it was going to snow yesterday - thankfully NOT
DeleteYour new fence looks terrific. We still have snow here in Alberta but it has warmed up some today. Jake is a beautiful fellow. A wonderful visitor to have in your backyard! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenn. I think I would cry if we got snow now.
