What's a girl to do when so many group activities are cancelled & we are being told to social distance ourselves. Well there's a huge stash of scrapping supplies at home, so it's get busy & craft
The Movie Night two page spread is from a kit. I am not happy with the drink (pop) die cut - thankfully I have not glued down, so easy to remove, save for another project & use the space for more photos.
The Every Moment Is Worth Remembering layout was a make & take from years ago & I've lost the "n" for moment; none of my dies are the same size so I may have to remake the whole word.
It was wonderful to take time away from the news & the house keeping have to's to be creative. I feel really re-charged. I highly recommend crafting to blow away the winter blahs.
Something must be going on with blogspot as I can't see any of your photos! I tried deleting mine and re-uploading and was still getting messages that people couldn't see my layouts. Hope they get it figured out!
ReplyDeleteThat's so weird isn't with Blogger. I can see my photos on all of the computers at home & each one is running a different platform. I cannot find anything online to indicate what the problem is.
DeleteI'm happy to hear that you are managing the current advice to spend time crafting. An excellent use of your time and your resources!
ReplyDeleteThanks Eileen.
DeleteMore and more events are being cancelled. I rarely craft at big events, so that's not a problem, but I'm certainly going to have more time at home. Even our church services are cancelled this Sunday, and they will evaluate the situation on a weekly basis. We have tickets for a theater performance on Saturday, and have decided not to go. The health commissioner has recommended all gatherings of 50 people or more be cancelled until further notice. Hope I get my creative mojo back soon! (I'll be back later to see if you photos have shown up,)
ReplyDeleteThe Roman Catholic church in Quebec has cancelled all masses, I'm sure the Anglican church will follow suit soon in this province. Our local theatre is allowing a most more relaxed cancellation policy, no refunds, but you can switch to another date, another performance or turn it into a donation & get a tax receipt. I too hope your creative mojo comes back soon.
DeleteOthers have had photo problems today but they seem to resolve after some time. I can`t see yours yet either.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if it is Google or just Blogger (owned by Google). I seem to have the problem resolved for now. Fingers crossed. Are your RTO meetings still on?
DeleteYour photos still aren't visible.
ReplyDeleteI've also been thinking of the positives of being home for 2 weeks - guilt-free scrapping and a huge clear our of all those cupboards full of c**p!
Fingers crossed for remaining healthy, though.
I think I've somewhat fixed the photo sharing problems, hopefully you can see now.
DeleteI love your Movie Night Page. Crafting and movie-watching are both excellent social distancing activities. There should be a way to join in virtually in these things -an online meeting :) (I can see the photos in this post just fine.)
ReplyDeleteThanks. I think Netflix & HBO are going to see huge rise in their subscribers over the next month.
DeleteI can see your photos! And very nice layouts they are too!
ReplyDeleteStaying home and doing some crafting is the perfect thing to do if events are cancelled. At the moment schools around here are staying open, but many people are being told to work from home as the offices are closing for two weeks at least.
Thanks Deb. So many things are closed or cancelled for the next few weeks. Mr Man has the option of working from home for the next month. Univ, public & secondary schools are now closed for the next 21-30 days.
DeleteOfficial advice here at the moment is broadly to "keep calm and carry on", which may or may not be the right thing but I am still worried that more people aren't being more proactive in taking simple steps to minimise risk. I know that if the government took more drastic measures now, it would create other social and economic problems but firstly they are less significant in terms of life and death and secondly there is more that we could be doing while still avoiding too much upheaval. I realise missed holidays or closed theatres are disappointing and may cost money, but in some cases I think a sense of perspective is being lost.
DeleteI was shocked & a little annoyed that some are pushing ahead with their travel plans abroad. It seems to be a sure telltale sign of our "me" first society. It isn't just ourselves we put at risk but those in our families & communities, people that could be at a higher risk. While Mr Man & I are not sick, we are trying to do our bit with the "flattening of the curve" only absolute necessary trips out, we are not hoarding. This is definitely Health before Wealth times. Yes keep calm & carry on but with reason & consideration. All levels of government here are issuing statements to "flatten the curve", suggesting that we don't travel outside of the country, but also telling us, it's up to us as individuals that can make the biggest difference. Thankfully blogging is a social distancing activity :)
DeleteThese are fabulous layouts! Now you can have FUN finding just the right photos for them. I've been scrapping a ton lately & plan on staying in for the next couple of weeks ... after being so sick last summer with the flu & pneumonia, I'm not taking any unnecessary chances with this virus.
ReplyDeleteI think more people need to start taking this social distancing seriously. Italy is having rising stats because even though the government said social distance, they aren't. Anyway, the crafting is what keeps me away from the news.
DeleteYour scrapbook pages are lovely. This is a good time to stay home and craft, isn't it? Here, in California, our governor has urged those 65 and older to self-isolate.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bless. The restrictions on being out & about are not forever, it's something we can ALL contribute to stopping or at least slowing this nasty virus down. I wouldn't want to be the one causing loved ones a battle with this disease.
DeleteYou are putting your crafting energies to great use - I am admiring your fussy cutting too! Glad it feels helpful and re-energising. We are staying at home, apart from long walks in the very quiet countryside, and getting on with house-garden projects inbetween working (also from home). Schools still open here but not sure for how much longer.
ReplyDeleteI am most hopeful that all this crafting will finally see me getting around to using all the stuff I have bought. I'm finding the walks in the fresh air help relieve some of my building anxiety. I just read on someone's blog "our grandparents where sent to war, we are sent to the couch, we can do this." Thankfully, we have phones, email, facetime, blogs, we can reach out & still connect.
DeleteYou have some great pages started there. Glad to hear I am not the only one with a backlog of supplies. 😁
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that there is many, I see all the memes & puns on some of the F/B groups about scrapbook supplies once hoarded are now in full use.
