Me On A Monday - February 8th

Good Morning.  Hope that everyone is doing well.

There's not a lot happening here in my little piece of the world, so I'll leave you with some photos of what winter is looking like right now in that little piece of my world.

Oh, & just for the record, I did see my shadow on February 2nd, so I am predicting 6+ more weeks of winter.  Our provincial rodent forecaster, Wiarton Willie, did not see his shadow, which means he is predicting an early spring.  We'll see who's correct come March 16th!

Now to scenes of winter in my world.

  1. Those icicles! It does seem that your snow has set in for a little longer!

    1. When I see those icicles I want to go break them off, but Mr Man says it could damage the eaves that they are attached to, so we have to let the sun melt them. In spite of the cold, it is amazing how powerful the sun is.

  2. Good morning! You've captured some lovely winter images. I think it's going to be more of the same for most of this month. -Jenn

    1. Thanks Jenn. Forecasts are for more snow this week & quite cold. I think your region has a lot more snow that we have, as we are nestled in between two parts of the escarpment.

  3. Ooh, you're looking very wintery over there in Canada! Parts of the UK have had heavy snow this past weekend, but West London has had what I can only describe as a sprinkling.

Here's to a good, if quiet, week. :)

    1. I'm all for a news quiet week. In this part of Ontario, it isn't particularly a heavy snow time, so far, although some forecasters are saying February could be not only cold but snowy. At least we can't go any where, so no worries about driving in it.

    1. It certainly is proving to be a cold month. I find March & November bleak months, but at least with March we are coming out of winter not going into it.

  5. I don't know how you feel about the snow but the photos certainly say tranquil!

    1. It can be tranquil because we don't have to drive in it, we are still under stay at home orders. Snow can certainly make for some pretty scenes & when the wind sculpts, it can be so amazing.

  6. Lovely photos. Do you have a lot of snow compared to previous years? I assuming there is a possibility of more if you are expecting another six weeks of it.

    Stay warm, Mary-Lou xx

    1. This year, so far, it has not been really that snowy. We have had years where the snow piled beside the driveway from cleaning it off was about 4' high. Right now it's too cold to snow (-18 (c) & that's without the wind chill). Snow is expected overnight, about 15cm.

  7. Such atmospheric photos - I love the one of the snow piled high on your little bug hotel and bird feeder. It's 28F here and going to fall to 21F tonight, so not as cold as you!

    1. We are in a cold spell, which should break later in the week. Right now it's the wonderful sunshine that is so enjoyable.

  8. Lovely winter photos! I love the snow on the grasses. I'm betting on you rather than Wiarton Willie . . .

    1. Thanks Karen for that vote of confidence. More snow is forecast for each day this week, hopefully not!

    1. Thanks Lady Ella. The bug hotel is meant for the Mason Bees, which did this summer booked into. I think I take the photo of the snow on my bird feeder every year.

  10. At least we had sun today and, as you say, you can feel the warmth from it. A sign that Spring is not far off.

    1. The sunshine was marvelous. Both kitties were looking for sun puddles throughout the day. I was tempted to join them.

  11. Ooh, it is definitely winter, up there! Very pretty, though, and those icicles are impressive! Snow is best appreciated from inside a warm house, I think! Stay warm!

    1. The snow can be wonderful to be out in, when it's not so bitterly cold or windy. Since my ear woes, I've been overly cautious about being out when it's windy.

  12. Lovely snow scenes, especially to me since I live in a place where snow is rare and slight.

    1. I would happily box some up & sent ... I try every year to be friendly towards winter & it works until 30 cm of snow descends in one storm & temperatures drop to -24(c). Then it's all bets off (col).
