A few views of what is happening around the little village I live in. Some are crafting, some are walking, some sending encouragement, some entertain us ...
This is our local real estate office - they are closed because they are not an essential service, so they covered the building with a flag. To me it looks like it is wearing it's non medical mask.
Wow, look at all those face masks - someone has been very busy!
ReplyDeleteI love that knight and the sign he is holding - very inventive!
I did not make those masks, I donated the elastic for the ear pieces. The knight walked in different neighbourhoods to remind everyone to stay home. I think he did as a way to break up his day (lol). The crocheted ear savers for the masks were done by another lady at our church, these were delivered to our local hospital for the front line workers.
DeleteYour shot of the rainbow is glorious! Did you make all those masks? Very productive.
ReplyDeleteI did not sew these masks but I did contribute the elastic for the ear pieces; these masks were made by a lady at my church, who gives them away free but does ask for a donation to be made to the church. The rainbow is from the newest subdivision (estate) in the south end of town, lots of catch basin ponds which have paved pathways.
DeleteMay the 4th be with you!
ReplyDeleteI love the bloom rock and the warning knight lol
May 4th also be with you ... and don't we all need to be Jedi Knights right now & connect with the force of holding the line (staying at home, social distancing).
DeleteIt'a a great collection of photos to document this unusual time.
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen. There's a few other things happening that I would like to get a photo of. The volunteer fire fighters go out on one or two of the trucks to a house where there's a birthday child, put the lights on & a couple short blasts from the sirens to help with the celebrations.
DeleteYou've really captured the essence of Covid in this collection! (well, at least from the perspective of those not inside a hospital!)
ReplyDeleteThanks. I am so happy that the people of our village have been very good about the social distancing.
DeleteGreat selection of contemporaneous photos. But I am at a loss as to what the 2-button dohickeys are?
ReplyDeleteThe 2 button dohickeys are crocheted ear savers. There are used to allow your face mask elastic ear pieces to attached at the back over the buttons rather than your ears. If you are wearing a mask for any length of time, your ears are the first to complain. Some of the at home 3D printers are making a plastic (flexible) version. The local medical communities are very thankful for these. It is one of the things I am trying to learn to crochet.
DeleteWhat a great collection of shots to show what's happening right now for those of you staying at home! (Things have opened up here in Texas, but we're still staying home for now.)
ReplyDeleteMany of these photos are going into my COVID-19 album. Our provincial Premiere has relaxed a few things, but we are still not open for business (our provincial slogan). Like you, we will continue to physically distance.
DeleteThat is a great collection of photos. I especially like the quote you have cited!
