Wisdom Wednesday #10

"I sleep my beauty sleep for eleven months in total darkness, gathering my strength in order to enlighten your day."  The Tulip

So maybe this time of the Great Pause, is our time to gather our strength to be ourselves enlightened.

  1. I must admit that I'm a bit apprehensive about taking my finger off that pause button - at the moment there is comfort in being isolated. But I am sure that we will all gradually find our way and when the time is right we'll be like your glorious flowers, open and enthusiastic to greet the new day.

    1. I am also very nervous about a return to "normal" life, I think there is still too much risk with being in crowds, especially in enclosed spaces. The photo of tulips is from last year, this year's spring offering is sparse & struggling with recovery from the snow.

  2. That's a perfect quotation for this time that we are all living through ... The Great Pause, I like that.
I think there are many of us who are apprehensive about 'life after' ... I know I am.

    1. I am very nervous as almost daily we keep learning knew things about this virus & without a treatment, let alone a vaccine, I can see The Pause lasting well into the Autumn. It was announced today that the CNE (Canadian National Exhibition) held in August, is cancelled - a huge blow to everyone.

  3. That's an inspirational way of looking at things :) I feel like I haven't really paused, as my days are much the same as they were before. Now that the weather's pretty and I could get out... now I'll begin to see a difference in my days.

    1. I have had moments of being introspective, pausing to ask what I am I rushing back to? I think I will be in pause mode for many months to come. Thankfully many if not most in my community are not rushing to re-open too soon. Better the pause of now, than a full stop of impatience.

    1. Those tulips are last year's - this year's are or were finished off by the snow. I'm hoping that my giant alliums will bloom. It was a glorious sunshine day & temps did rise.

  5. This is such an appropriate quote for the times. I have to admit to being a little nervous about life after lockdown. Debs is right. There is comfort in isolation. Hopefully we will all come out of the other end in full bloom.

    1. I agree there is definitely a feeling of safety in isolation. Too many unknowns, not just about the virus, but of how things will work after lock down eases. Masks? 2-3 metres apart? Gatherings, 5? 10? 15? No at home I can make all my own social distancing rules & observations.

  6. The Great Pause - yes, that sounds like what we've been in ... although so much is opening up here it's scary. We're still staying home, but by the sound of the traffic we're the exception right now. Supposedly there's still social distancing in place, but Robbie said the grocery store was a nightmare the other day - way too packed with people.

    1. We still have a lot of social distancing rules in place but this weekend so many are ignoring. I am not impressed & I saw a meme that said, lockdown is relaxed but that doesn't mean the virus is gone, it just means they have room for you now in ICU. Mr Man & I are choosing to stay home; our thoughts are safer at home.

  7. The Great Pause, I like that, even better than the Great Confinement, as I call it.

    1. My wish is that we all pause to consider what we are rushing back to.
