I am: Amused by the "let's have fun" spirit of our, up the street neighbours. Tweety, which I have shown in winter garb, is showing off her spring attire. These neighbours decorate their entire property for Easter & host a community Easter egg hunt, all at their own expense.
I am: Fine tuning our 2018 summer manifesto. I picked a theme for the types of adventures, ran my ideas past Mr Man, who was in full agreement. Our theme is Trains, Boats & Automobiles ...
I am: Putting together a 2018 sensational photo scavenger hunt - if you have any suggestions, please share. Thanks to those that have already given me some suggestions & ideas. I thought we could get started on the list May to September, which will give everyone a good length of time to find all or some of the items.
I am: Focusing (OLW) on my April Angel card; Listening - "if you get the inclination to call someone, go somewhere or read something, it's important to follow this guidance."
I am: Pleased with my shaking Easter dinner up a little. For Mr Man I made a roast turkey breast but rather than having it & everything else taste just like Christmas, I used Lipton's Savory Herb With Garlic to make my rub for the turkey & my soy; adding a little to the dressing (stuffing) & then sprinkling with a little olive oil over the potatoes - oh my it was SO good. It's good to shake things up in the kitchen once in a while. Being that cooking all meals in this house falls on me, it can get just a little too routine at times. What about you, how do you shake things up in your cooking routine?
I am: Reading Trevor Noah, Born a Crime. Trevor is a comedian on American late night TV. This book is being made into a movie. Trevor was born in South Africa during a time that "sex between whites & blacks was illegal"; his Mother is South African Zhosa, his Father is Swiss German. Because I like him I didn't mind the book, one of my sister dislikes him & hated the book. I finished Bellman & Black. It was ok, not a repeat read for me inspite of my high hopes for this book.
I am: Annoyed at what appears to be a bunny in our front garden chewing the tulip shoots - bad bunny!
the tops of tulips are chewed off! |
Happy Monday - let's do it! (just had to get the pink one in).

So excited to see there'll be a scavenger hunt! I really enjoy these so can't wait to see your list - count me in.
ReplyDeleteDeb I will message you once the list is ready, so you don't miss out on this hunt.
DeleteI'm another big fan of the scavenger hunts, so was pleased to read about this year's list! I'm the only cook here, and I try to make a new recipe at least once a week. Last week I made two new dishes, both of which got the seal of approval from Tracy.
ReplyDeleteKaren I try to get in at least 1-2 new recipes a month. Mr Man is so easy to feed he is not a picky eater at all, I count my blessing there.
DeleteI'm curious what you have in mind for your "summer manifesto"! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteJenn I've been searching for boat cruises close by along with specialty train rides - we have done a steam train out of Tottenham before & the countryside was lovely. I know Elora has a train with lots of theme days. Cruising on The Grand looks affordable & close by.
DeleteI can hardly wait to see what adventures result from a theme of Trains, Boats & Automobiles! Sounds like fun is in store :) I agree that we should consider those inclinations as guidance. Thx for the reminder. I never shake up things in the evening meal. My husband is the pickiest of eaters and just won't even try anything different. My experiments are small one-person affairs at lunch ;) I thought I loved rabbits until we lived in a house where rabbits ate everything I tried to grow. So frustrating. Here's to hoping that April brings warm sunshine!
ReplyDeleteI love bunnies but not eating my tulips. We don't have too many as the coyotes take care of them! I know someone said to put cayenne pepper down but it is horrible to watch the squirrels try & wash off, they will just about rip their skin off. I'll just shoo them away ... Mr Man is an easy one to feed, he'll eat anything other than fish (allergic).
DeleteNaughty bunny! I do like Tweety's egg stash and if I lived nearby there's no doubt I would take part in the egg hunt. I have no strong feelings either way about Trevor Noah, but I seem to recall he does an AMAZING Nelson Madela impression!
ReplyDeleteThe day after the egg hunt (all chocolate) the dog owners are complaining that their dogs are finding & eating the ones not found ... the wind blew some of Tweety's nest items out & I picked several up today on my walk. Trevor can be too much quickly, a little of him goes a long way. I've not seen his Nelson Madela impression. Sad that Winnie Madela just passed away.
DeleteLots going on in this post! Glad there'll be another Summer Photography Scavenger Hunt - they're such fun! What else? That wine definitely has my name on! Tweety's owners seem to be very nice people and community minded; did you take part? Well done on being at the stage of finalising your Summer travel plans; we're still at the deciding where we are going stage (although we do have a family trip coming up before then).
ReplyDeleteIf the pond wasn't in the way, I would bring you a bottle ...
DeleteSome of the Summer plans involved ordering tickets online which sell out rather quickly. One is the train for wizard training at an Harry Potter festival & there's an over 18yrs car (they recognize the need!) I didn't participate in the egg hunt, it was mostly over by the time I got out of church - it's fun to watch the little kids.
I shake things with with my cooking by letting my husband do it, teehee.
ReplyDeleteI love that your neighbours have an egg hunt for the kids, that is so sweet.
Tracy if Mr Man makes me a mug of tea, he thinks he has cooked! At least he's easy to please & never complains, even the nights we have breakfast for dinner.
DeleteVery ‘eggcited’ about the next hunt. Heard so many egg jokes this Easter I should know better.
ReplyDeleteWe have lamb at Easter. Some find that a little tricky with all those little lambs in the shed. That’s life on the farm.
I do all the cooking unless the girls are feeling enthusiastic. I tend to experiment with what I can find in the cupboard. My tasters always give an honest opinion.
I've got a few colour themes blended in the hunt. Mr Man likes lamb but I don't have much success with it unless I do on the barbeque. The last few weeks I've been the same with experimenting, trying to empty the chest freezer.
DeleteTrains, Boats & Automobiles sounds like a great theme! It's been a while since I've really gotten into a scavenger hunt, so I'm going to plan to do the new one for sure!
