Me On A Monday - February 12th

Greetings to all & a big wave hello.  Thank you for all the well wishes.

Wellness, it's my latest Focus along with my Angel card of Release & Surrender. This mutant cold has really taken a lot out of me & I cannot believe I have not shaken it as yet.  I did go to work last week but each shift took a lot out of me & I was in bed each night by 8:00pm.

On February 2nd our local groundhog, Wiarton Willie predicted 6 more weeks of winter!  Mr Man has used these quite a lot since February 2nd:

I am preparing for Lent with the kick off on Tuesday of pancakes for dinner.  I can only imagine for many the dilemeia of giving up chocolate for Lent, but what to do with Valentine's chocolate?

I am still recovering from my malady, so I haven't had a lot of wandering about outside.  But what I have noticed this week on my few jaunts to the mail box & back are prints made in snow.  There has been a lot of freshly fallen snow in the last week, & today as I write this post, we are having another day of snow fall - an all day event making the morning & evening compute difficult for those driving.  Thankfully I don't have to drive in it & this week Mr Man is working from home.  So nothing but admiration for the beauty of the snow, this week!

Oh my, the buzz over the last week about this book has been popping up on SO many blogs & F/B posts.  Another book in the arsenal of how to live a good life in spite of having the suggestion of death in the title.

I have the ebook on request from the library & will add this to my Winter Reading List.  Both my parents were pack racks & it's a gene I fear more than the other genes of illness & disease.  Thankfully Mr Man & I are both neat, tidy & order kind of folks, but still I worry about what can only be described as breeding that goes on in my cupboards of plastic food containers.  I must go through this pile at least twice a year & each every time there seems to be more.  You can check my purchase receipts & you will find no purchases made but how are they getting into my cupboards, into my life?
 
Earlier in the year I signed up for email Merriam Webster's Word of The Day - increasing your vocabulary.  See, I was ahead of the clutter free zone, no desk top paper calendars with a word to learn each day.  It's all clutter free electronically sent.   There have been some interesting words.  This ties back to last year when I couldn't settle on One Little Word for the year but resolved to pay attention to my choice of words. One of my favourite words showed up this week.

At work last week when I was once again interviewing for reception at the clinic, I interviewed a lady that is a private yoga instructor; she does not work out of a studio but comes to your home to work with you & her focus - are you ready? - is restorative yoga!  Yes! Once again when you put it out there, The Universe will deliver but not always in the fashion you had in mind.  Anyway, this lady has wonderful energy, although because of her schedule, not a good fit for reception.

And while I speak of interviewing, the boss man put it upon me to find a replacement for our RMT (registered massage therapist) as ours was moving on as of Jan 30th & when I was reviewing resumes (CVs) I came upon someone applying for reception but was just qualifying as an RMT, so I reached out to her, said forget reception, what about massage;  boss man interviewed & we have hired her as our new RMT.  Some days you win ...

This week what I have been noticing that Mother Nature paints with some intense colour during the winter months.  I am sure that because the winter daylight hours are brief & animals & birds need to find food easily, Mother Nature paints many of the seeds & berries left about in red.  I know a tiny bit about the science of red & the vision wave length of birds.    I am seeing red this Thursday.

Me On A Monday - January 22nd

Hello & good morning - a brief check in on this fine day. 
 
On Sunday it was mild enough to take a walk outside or at least I thought it was mild, after only 20 minutes the weather changed from sunny to foggy, the wind picked up & the temperature dropped - well at least I got a brief walk outside - lots of deep breathing. The last 10 minutes of my walk were at rather a brisk pace.  

The last couple of days have been above zero so some of the snow has been melting.  I'm not too excited because the forecast is by mid week more snow.

 

On this brief walk I saw a number of things that made me smile & I must admit I was looking for such things for the WSPH.  I saw on someone's front lawn at least 50 wood skunk cut outs.  These type of lawn ornaments are placed there to celebrates someone's significant birthday, such as 50.  They made me chuckle a little.

The other things I found to smile about was since it had been milder the snow turned to good packing snow & perfect for building snow things such as this snow cat.

I also saw that this tree ornament, which I had posted about in the summer, was still wearing her Christmas attire.  While I don't want in any of my trees, Tweety made me smile.  Mr Man says that such things making me smile is a symptom that I have been inside too long.   Could be.

One thing that doesn't make us smile is that tax season is upon us & we loaded up the tax software for 2017.  April 1st comes ever so quickly when thinking tax ...
