SNAP - A Warning To The Wise

Joining in with Helena at :SNAP

I am not sure why lately I am being drawn to signs.  This set does have a theme.  Could this be The Universe's subtle message to me?  Time will tell.  I give you Warnings To The Wise;

ps the theme is use at your own risk ....

  1. I love collecting signs and have been noticing all the ones telling me not to do things I would never contemplate anyway

    1. According to some of the ladies I work with, they did not need as many signs when they were younger, & then the mutterings start about no common sense now a days ...

  2. If I went back through my photos from the last several years, I'd probably find enough signs for several SNAP collections!

    1. When I travelled I use to take photos of things I would never see in my part of the world.

    1. Thanks Ruth. I usually take photos of the signs at historical sites so I can remember to get all the details in my scrap journaling.

  6. These are some great signs. I saw a brilliant one the other day that I had never seen before. It was in the middle of the road and I was driving. "Pleas drive carefully through the road works. My daddy works here. " Didn't mention mummy!

    1. So many poets & writers on road signs these days ... most of the flag persons on roads are usually women.

  7. You obviously live in a very dangerous place.... what an interesting set of signs.

    1. On the second sign, in Canada we seem to have two seasons, winter & construction. The recycle centre sign is because the government is making so many rules about how to dispose of your yard waste & other recyclables, I fear people will just dump on the side of the road.

  8. Ah - you got me. When I started reading I thought the theme was going to be "Closed" - but then the last one didn't seem to fit! I used to have a sign on my bedroom door that said "Enter at your own risk" - after listing several hazzards that may be found within. I'd forgotten about that!

    1. I must admit I really laughed out loud - enter at own risk to your bedroom - now that is truly funny. I believe that decorating style is called Shabby Chic ...

  9. You know on some days it can be a real comfort to just be told what to do and what not to do.

    1. Oh I hear you on that, some days it is nothing but what do I wear, what do I eat, should I ... some days I would like someone else to make all the decisions (lol).

  10. I had a chuckle at the closed rink....with all of that green grass in the background, I would hope no one is trying to use it, lol.

    1. This rink was mostly closed this year because of the milder weather. You have no idea what people were doing in that boarded off rink area - oh the horrors of it all.

  11. What a great collection for snap this week. We have a place in the town that makes road signs, I frequently smile when I see them stacked up in the yard with others, making no sense at all. Well done and very creative.

    1. Oh Miriam that would be a fun place to visit - I wonder how many spelling errors are made when making the signs?

    1. I may be wrong but I definitely feel there are more signs posted everywhere about everything.

  14. I have an 8x8 album that contains all the signs that have made us laugh over the years. One of the best was on the bottom of a cardboard box, it said: "this is the bottom of the box, thank you for looking". It was on a box in the RSPB cafe in Amble in Northumbria

    1. That box sign is just so funny - too bad there was not a way to keep track of how many people looked/read. I think because of the Internet/Pinterest signs are getting funnier.
