Good Morning. Today's post is all about the Winter Photo Scavenger Hunt, hosted by Eileen at WPSH. Thank you Eileen for hosting.
She put together a great list for searching between December 1st & March 31st. Unfortunately weather, life, & it's many variations got in the way of me fully participating & finding all the items . But I'm not going to punish myself for not finding all the items. I'll celebrate what I did come up with & share with you a few of my finds- although Blogger and/or the Internet are not playing very nice & making it rather difficult to load photos.
#1 Seeing Faces Everywhere: the most delightful faces I find when trying to make the bed.
#7 Water: (frozen)
#16 Signs of Spring - the neighbours tapping their Maple trees for sap, to make maple syrup.
#17 Tree Bark: birch tree, it naturally peels in the winter
#19 Something Red: a red envelope with lots of red warning labels.
Hopefully Blogger & the Internet are going to be more co-operative later in the week when I'll try to post a few more of my WPSH finds.
I hope everyone has a delightful week.
Aw, don't those two kitty faces look sweet?! Hope you are able to upload the rest of the photos; I like the ones you've posted so far, especially the one of the kitties and the frozen water.
ReplyDeleteI hope you and your husband have a lovely week.
Thanks Bless. I don't often find the girls snuggled so close together. Frozen water thankfully was out in nature this year & not indoors! I'm hopeful that Blogger enjoyed the defrag & refresh of my computer (col).
DeleteI can imagine that it is a lot harder to find ideas for a Winter scavenger hunt than a summer one! Well done on ticking these off the list.
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb. Winter is a real hit & miss of getting out for any reason but this year with all the medical appointments for Mr Man, I found my creative flow was missing a lot.
DeleteI had no idea that people did the maple syrup tapping themselves still - I assumed it was all commercialised. Thank-you for the info! Those are indeed very sweet faces ...
ReplyDeleteIn our region the biggest producers of maple syrup are the Mennonites & Amish, we have 100's of roadside stalls set up in April to sell their wares. I am rather fond of those two faces.
DeleteAh, so you are a cat person. I wonder how your neighbour does with processing sap from one tree as I understand that it takes a lot of time and heat and that you don’t come out of the process with all that much syrup.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a cat person. The neighbour has about 15 buckets out on several trees as does their neighbours, & I think they pool their resources to make a supply to share. This year they are having problems with the raccoons getting the lids off.
DeleteI think that's my envelope!
ReplyDeleteImage 7 is very cool ... pun unintended!
That is your envelope :) Thankfully not too many days of freezing rain this winter.
DeleteSorry - should have read the comments before posting. Glad I have been exonerated! :)
Deleteand the surprising bit of the red envelope was that it was sealed perfectly by the sender & sealed when received, so I really don't understand why the warning labels ... & not even sure which mail system applied :)
DeleteThat is definitely the British Royal Mail logo.
DeleteI'm not sure why, but the Winter Scavenger Hunt always escapes me. Next year I'll try to get started on time. The finds you have are excellent. I especially like the cats and the tree bark photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen. I must admit the WPSH wasn't first on my mind during the last few months but as Eileen & I have both said, for any seasonal photo search, it's about the fun element.
DeleteI'm sorry that Blogger is playing silly buggers with you too. I am just about at the end of my tether! Four attempts to get into your blog today and I don't even have the "anonymous" option when I can't!
ReplyDeleteWell done so far and I have a horrible feeling that "something red" might have originated from me ... though I do usually add sellotape to my envelopes for extra security. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your finds and no, definitely no point in punishing yourself, these things aren't meant to be a penance! I did the bare minimum this year - solidarity to L really, as she was keen ... although I still haven't had sight of any submissions!! :o)
Blogger, for what I am reading online, is playing silly beggers with just about everyone. If Blogger plays nicer with me I hope to get some more photos from the WPSH published later in the week. Your efforts with this year's WPSH were very good. Oh & I don't permit Anonymous comments on the blog so sorry that it took so many tries, thank you for keeping at it :)
DeleteI like your 'water' photo ... very clever and of course the 'faces' are adorable.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for joining in again. If it's any consolation I've had problems with Blogger as well. It's driving me mad! xx
Thanks Eileen. To add insult to injury, we have been having very strong lightening storms which for some reason also adds to computer woes.
DeleteNice snaps, all of the them. Why is it that birch bark is just so stunningly unique.
