Mr Man is really good at the maze, he always figures out the Thanksgiving corn maze before anyone else, not me, I get lost in a maze. Where as the labyrinths are my walk ;)
Thanks Alexa. I find a labyrinth allows me a moment to not think, I just follow and it let's my mind focus how ever momentarily, on my question as I walk in.
I have three labyrinths that I walk; this one of grass, there is one made entirely of cement using colour to create the design and the third is outlined with large rocks & stones.
I like that labyrinths lead you along, no sense of direction required. Mazes get me totally confused and lost. The only maze we participate in is a Thanksgiving corn maze every October.
I prefer to wander in a labyrinth, than feel confined in a maze! When a friend of mine died, his parents made a labyrinth in his memory. It's a lovely peaceful place, overlooking the house he grew up in.
I will dig out the photos I have of the other two for you. I think people often think a labyrinth is a maze but quite the opposite. Mazes are suppose to get you lost & confused - I don't like that, where as a labyrinth leads you in and out, plus in a labyrinth usually you can see out & over.
I love both! Used to love doing those puzzle ones as a child

DeleteVery intriguing. I'm not a lover of labyrinths and mazes, but your photo is lovely and fresh.

DeleteThat's an interesting one

DeleteI like the sentiment behind this but have no sense of direction so find mazes and labyrinths stressful rather than cleansing!

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful tribute to your friend. I think there are more and more home labyrinth installations happening.
DeleteI don't think I have ever seen a labyrinth. Can't remember one anyway. Show us the other two, some time!
