Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend. What is new from the patio?
Well for this week's new report -we were off the patio on a wander/adventure.
We both were feeling overwhelmed with world news & family stuff; we needed to take ourselves out for the day, away from routine.
Our style for this wander was tossing the dice for direction, 2nd right, then go straight, take the next left, kind of drive to wander on some back roads.
This wander took us past two types of soaring clubs. One was the hand gliders & the other ultra light (glider) planes. Big fluffy clouds, a slight breeze was prefect gliding weather. We parked in a field & watched something new to us. I found it interesting that the hand gliders, the people were zipped into a sort of sleeping bag. Anyway a couple of photos from our wander. No we are not planning to take either up as a new sport.

Our wander did distract us & when we returned home, we had a lovely late afternoon sit & read on the patio - the neighbourhood was very quiet. Sunday we stayed home & puttered inside & out. Two days to refresh our hearts & minds. The rain gauge on the left is again dry/empty.

Hope everyone has a blissful week. My thought for today; I want to live in a world where a chicken can cross the road without her motives being questioned.

sounds a lovely wander - I sometimes think I would like to go up in a glider but never enough to actually arrange it - perhaps I should find a place to watch them - it looks so peaceful - have a good week
ReplyDeleteI think hand gliding appeals for the quiet that you would experience up there ... although I am not brave enough to try.
DeleteYour patio is just lovely, and a good sit with a book sounds delightful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen. Reading is such a favourite thing to do especially when I need to escape the crazy making drama that goes on around me.
DeleteBrought back memories of my day at the gliding/light aircraft club. Bonne semaine!
ReplyDeleteOh do tell more about your time at the gliding/light aircraft club ... flight? ground support? Being around airplanes raises my anxiety levels, but the hand gliders were quite fascinating to watch, the pilots of those were whooping joy that I could easily hear on the ground, which made me chuckle out loud. Good week to you also ...
DeleteYour thought for today made me chuckle! Your patio looks idyllic ... I'm not sure I could bear to be away from it for long. Pottering (as we say over here) at home is so relaxing. Wishing you a gentle ease-in to the week.
ReplyDeleteI would have used Pottering on the patio as I am re-reading the Harry Potter series as I sit on the patio. Glad I could bring a chuckle to you.
DeleteYour wander has restored your sense of humor, it seems. Our Monday found us in the house most of the day as we had thunderstorms off and on. But my expectations were low, and I managed to catch up on a few things online.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think humour is the best medicine. Not that I like thunderstorms, but the rain would be most welcomed. I will send some of our sunshine if you send some rain showers.
DeleteThere is so much going on in the world. It is difficult to keep a sense of proportion. The happenings in Nice certainly have unnerved me with my daughter wandering around Europe. I'm glad your wander helped.
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine the worry you must be experiencing right now for your daughter. Let's believe the best of the world ... & the kindness of strangers.
DeleteYour patio is so relaxing!
ReplyDeleteI love your thought of the day....everyone is just so nosey, teehee
I found a site with a whole bunch of quotes that are really chuckles & we all need to have some chuckles out loud.
DeleteSuch a lovely uplifting post Mary-Lou.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for that compliment Miriam.
DeleteHaha! That's the kind of world I'd like to live in too
ReplyDeleteChickens & the keeping of them are a hot topic right now in our little village ... I think I will post this light little quote at their site.
