We are in the middle of a freezing ice pellet storm system so lighting is less than ideal inside & out. I quickly took my 5 while outside filling up the bird feeders.
"Every gardener knows that under the cloak of winter lies a miracle ... a seed waiting to sprout, a bulb opening to the light, a bud straining to unfurl. And the anticipation nurtures our dream."
- Barbara Winkler
Love the top one - that will do for WPSH!
ReplyDeleteNice pics on the TV last night of people iceskating down the canal in Ottawa. Brrr!
I have been playing with the concept of thirds in setting a photo or a scrapbook page layout, so the bird feeder was a test, trying to see the ordinary in a new way. I once skated on the Rideau Canal in Ottawa - it was quite cool (not temperature) skating straight for a good while. Lots of places to stop & get hot chocolate or sit down for a break. Worthy winter activity.
DeleteYour photos really capture how cold it must be! Brrr! How thoughtful of you to go out into it to feed the birds :).
ReplyDeleteIn my youth, I never saw myself as one of those worrying about the birds but living in our own home with a big backyard, I am enthralled with all the wild life. The wind is what is making it quite cold, & while I am trying to mind my words, the wind is bitingly cold.
DeleteBrrrr.... That does look cold. It's good to feed the birds when did is in short supply. My husband had a bird feeding station for Christmas and it is attracted more birds into the garden. Thank you for joining in this month, you have done great photos and I liked the frozen water from the pipe.
ReplyDeleteAlways my pleasure to join in. I must admit I long for warmer sunny days for the 5.
DeleteWhat a fabulous quote and a lovely 5
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra. I have been digging through my book of found quotes, finally a chance to use them on my blog.
DeleteThese capture well a chilly venture outside. Thank goodness it's not that cold here!
ReplyDeleteNot to scare anyone, but it is about to get colder & a little nastier weather coming in for Tuesday morning, which means perfect hibernation weather day.
DeleteGood for you! I stayed inside all day yesterday, and totally missed that it was the 5th (again!) Hoping to get my 5in5 later today in a much kinder environment!
ReplyDeleteGosh, that looks cold..maybe I take back my wish for a little snow here!
ReplyDeleteOh my, bless you for keeping the feeder full during all that cold!
