This week what I have noticed is within my Christmas decorations & Mr Man's request that I cut down our Christmas decorations by one box. It's really hard to decide what needs to go & bring joy to someone's celebrations. Three of the things that I have decided to let go are 3 of my soft decorations. I am going to enjoy them this year but at the end, I will not be putting them back with our stuff.
The Elves I do remember came about from my two previous cats that were SO good participating in my staged Santa photo shoot (or any photo) that I thought they should have an Elf too. I think the moose family are from a burger chain & I'm not sure I purchased but was given the collection of 4, they are really old. The two teddy Santas were a Sears Canada fund raiser left over clearance item from a long time ago. Now as my decorating is maturing, it's time for one last cuddle & then a wave goodbye & thanks for sharing in Christmas memories.

Cute decorations ... especially the piled up moose (mooses?)
ReplyDeleteI think putting them out as part of this year's decoration is testing my solve to set them free!
DeleteI'm inspired by your process in paring back a bit on the decorations. Your photos and this blog post can serve as a reminder, and the decorations can bring joy to a new family. Sweet :)
ReplyDeleteIt's all part of my saying no to my one sister's closet clean outs which include one year several Christmas decorations & ornaments.
DeleteIt’s always interesting seeing other people’s decorations. I’ve sorted some to pass on this year, it’s surprisingly how many we can acculturate. Enjoy your last Christmas with those you plan to pass on
ReplyDeleteI always like to look through the ornaments on someone's Christmas tree, especially those that are everything. I know one lady that changes her entire collection every year to go with a theme. It makes me sad in a way because there's no back story, no memory ...
DeleteCute as can be! I love the foursome in the second photos. I've kept just one cuddly Christmas decoration---a teddy dressed for winter that sits in my father's small red chair that he had as a child. Ella, my middle granddaughter, loves this chair, and will be pleased to see the teddy next time she comes.
ReplyDeleteKaren what a wonderful memory & keepsake that chair must be - great photo opp for when Ella meets Teddy.
DeleteI shall be interested to hear in January whether any of them make it into the "going" box.
ReplyDeleteYou & me both Maggie (col)
DeleteI'm sure they will bring much happiness to their new owners next year - those teddies are so cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb. I need to stay the course of reduce.
DeleteThey are cute, especially the Sears bears.
ReplyDeleteBut we all need to declutter our not as loved decor :)
Yes I need to sort out either that or rent a storage unit!
DeleteWhat a great idea to enjoy them one more year knowing it's the last cuddle. We cleared a few things out this year as we were decorating . .. but not much. LOL
ReplyDeleteI think putting them out was a mistake, now I'm re-thinking if I want to abandon them! (col)
