You know the weather is bad when all the churches in the village cancel services, when all the pizza shops close up. Normal blogging will resume once storm has passed & power returned.
It's why I always keep a couple of frozen pizzas! (col). Everyone & everything has made it through the 4 day storm - they forecasted it to be an historic storm & it certainly has proved that. Our yard & neighbourhood is littered with downed branches (some with entire trees down) from the weight of the ice.
Thanks Ruth. We came through this just fine. Being prepared helps. I give thanks for all the crews of the hydro, fire & police that continued to work through the 4 days of the storm. In Toronto on Saturday there were over 550 car crashes - we wisely stayed home over the worse of the storm days.
Power was restored by late Monday morning. Our village is on a 3 square grid & we are in an older section so older grid which goes out if two people sneeze together. Luckily clinic (work) had power. It was a huge storm lasting from Friday to Monday with every type of weather in it, rain, snow & ice. The forecast is for snow tonight (Wed) & again Thursday - it just won't end!
Oh goodness and here we were moaning about yet another day of Winter yesterday. You are obviously faring a lot worse. Today it is glorious if a tad windy. Hoping Spring is just around the corner now.
Fiona I think world wide, Spring just doesn't want to settle in ... I do admit to being a little bit fed up with winter weather, ok A Lot Fed Up (col).
No pizzas! Stay warm and safe Mary-Lou.

DeleteOh my - stay warm! Winter is certainly hanging around a long time this year, isn't it!
ReplyDeleteWe are now calling this either day 107 of January or Springter ... I just keep telling myself, no winter lasts forever, no spring skips a turn ...
DeleteIt's clear you got a much worse version than we did. Hope your power has been restored by the time I'm typing this!

DeleteOh my goodness, you poor things - will Winter never end this year for you? I do hope there's an improvement very soon!
ReplyDeleteIt has been a long winter, one that just won't move on! We are calling it Sprinter. Thursday has a forecast of snow!
