ReplyDeleteAll three are Poinsettias & all grown indoors. A relative of mine in Florida has one growing outside that's as big as the first photo. I think 5-6 feet high & as a wide, but all mine have been potted plants which I toss by Easter.
DeleteThose 'trees' are lovely - I like seeing such colourful displays.
ReplyDeleteI've been noticing some growing as "standards" long stem/trunk with the flowering & coloured bits as a mop top.

ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome. I've only ever seen a natural growing one in Florida at a relatives & as a single plant it was huge. I've taken photos, must dig those out. I know they are native to Mexico & almost grow wild there.
DeleteThose poinsettia trees are stunning! I saw my first one a few years ago at the Chicago Botanic Garden. I don't think there's one anywhere here.
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen, all three are taken at the RBG in Burlington, ON. We have a green house not too far from us that becomes knows as Poinsettiaville in December, reds, pinks, whites, burgundies; solids or striped & now even blue.

DeleteI went to the Garden Centre today and their Christmas displays were gorgeous - I could have spent a fortune! But just got some bulbs to plant for Spring.
