Linking in with Sian & the other Monday Ladies at : From High In The Sky
What is new with me this Monday morning. Well first this is February 29th; a Leap Year is not necessarily a new thing, but today is an extra, a bonus - oh what new treasures will today unfold? Google has the cutest graphics depicting Leap Day.
In a continuation of my new scrapping style, I have experienced a new feeling about my creativity - I feel really happy with this layout. It took a while to create but I like the end results. New for me in using 3D embellishments of the buttons. The stitching around the calendar page was done by the manufacturer, but it's a new for me to cut a die cut sheet & place between 2 sides. I also added the all important page title. I think I may use this page for Ali Edward's Day In The Life, March 29th. Or maybe for my garden album showing the progression of a favourite flower. I like the layout scheme/ map/ sketch that I followed & will use again.
New at work - we all got a raise! Also new at the clinic, we are introducing Crazy Sock Day today as a way to mark & celebrate Leap Year Day.
New movie watched; Room. I had read the book & liked & I think the movie stayed pretty true to the book. The little boy, Jacob Tremblay, who plays Jack in the movie, deserves an Oscar - he was amazing. We did not watch the Oscars last night so as of right now, I have no idea who won, who did not.
"Hello, Monday. May I ask you a question? Why are you always back so quickly? Don’t you have a hobby?”
lovely page - it feels so good when a hobby sparks again and I agree with your question to Monday - have a great week
ReplyDeleteThanks Helena. I do feel a little refreshed on scrapping.
DeleteI like the idea of crazy sock day at work. You had better ask Sian along! Looking forward to seeing your feet. A pay rise sounds good too.
ReplyDeleteThere was not as much participation as I had hoped, but no matter it was fun for staff.
DeleteA pay rise is a good thing to start a week with! I love the idea of crazy sock day - it sounds like a fun tradition to be starting.
ReplyDeleteAh yes a pay rise but now the boss starts with "I just gave you a raise". Must nip that in the bud.
DeleteYou got a raise! That's fantastic! I'd like to see a picture of your crazy socks lol
ReplyDeleteHave a great week enjoying your creativity. You sound like you are on a scrapbooking roll
Your wish is my posting for Wednesday Snap. (col)
DeleteWhat a nice layout! And how exciting to get a raise & get to wear crazy socks to work for Leap Day! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Melissa - I really like the layout too.
DeleteI had no idea 'Room'was a movie...I read the book some time ago and really enjoyed it although it was very sad to read. I will have to keep my eye out for the movie.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great when layouts come together ...and its the perfect start to your 'Day in the life' album.
It is a sad but happy book/movie. She survives & learns to thrive. From the movie results I like the uTube of Brie Lawson (Room's star) hugging real life survivors of sexual abuse.

I duly checked out the Google graphic - thanks for the heads-up!
ReplyDeleteIt was cute was it not? I liked the leaping bunnies rather than the traditional leaping frogs.
DeleteI read "Room," and was quite sure I wouldn't be able to handle the movie, although my friends told me I should have gone. Love your address to Monday---how wonderful to suggest "she" get a hobby!
ReplyDeleteI think the movie was fairly well done, slow at times but they needed to build her anguish - she survives & learns to thrive. As I said above to Mardi - check out the uTube of Brie Lawson at the Academy Awards hugging the real life survivors of sexual abuse - it does a heart good.
DeleteGlad you're enjoying you new scrap booking style..and starting the week off with a pay rise has to be good! Xx
