Take Three Thursday -

In an effort to notice more of the ordinary in my life, I have decided to share what I have noticed this week in Take Three Thursday.   The idea is to take photos that are linked some how; by theme, by colour, by date, by moment,  by points of view. There is no formal link in but please feel free to join in.

What have you noticed this week?

Have a look at what others have noticed this week:

This week the fur girls have been allowed into the living while we were taking down Christmas decorations & the tree.  Sooty made friends with a black squirrel that seemed as fascinated by her & she was with him.

The squirrel discovered just after we put up the Christmas Angel (outside) that her arms provided a safe & seemly comfortable spot to sit & eat his peanuts.  The cats were intrigued by all the squirrel activity in the front garden & it took several moments before Sooty & The Black discovered each other.  Then it was them chasing each other back & forth along the window ledge; Sooty inside, The Black outside. Smokey just sat in the chair & watched.  This game went on for about an hour.  Now every morning Sooty & Smoke cry to go into the living room to visit with their friend.  I love cats.

  1. How sweet! I've never seen a black squirrel. London (and most of the UK) has a ton of grey squirrels and you can usually catch a glimpse of a red squirrel in the rural parts of Scotland.

    1. Our natural squirrels are the black & the red but we have many, with out passports, of the grey squirrels. The greys can get quite aggressive with our black & our reds which seem to be loosing ground.

  2. The only black squirrels I know are in Ontario. The first time I saw one in Niagara-on-the-Lake, I thought it was an abnormality. Your kitty is just too cute watching the squirrel!

    1. Locally we have a lot of the greys & blacks mating & what you get sometimes are blacks with the tips of their tails white & now there seems to be a whole colony of the white tipped squirrels.

  3. I had never heard of a black squirrel before! Our dog loves chasing squirrels, although doesn't realise she will never be quick enough to catch up with them once they scamper up a tree.

    1. The cats next door are outdoor cats & they are forever chasing the squirrels, unfortunately for the squirrels climbing a tree doesn't save them from the cat chase!

  4. Oh, how FUN that you captured their playtime!

Yes, put me down for this week’s Thursday Three. (I just had no time for extra words in my post yesterday! :|)

    1. It has been really amusing to watch Sooty & her little squirrel friend at the window - I cannot hear the squirrel, but indoors Sooty chatters quite a bit to the squirrel.

    1. We also have some very cheeky Blue Jays that tease the cats at the windows - I call it bird theatre for indoor cats.
