With all the resting that was required with "the great sickness", I used that time to come up with the final decision on my 2020 One Little Word along with my monthly Angel Thoughts.
What about you - have you picked a guiding word for 2020?
My word for this year has been chosen as Nourish. The picture below is what I see as nourishing mind, body & spirit, from which I hope nourishing these aspects is growth.

Before I pick my Angel Thoughts, I get my OLW in place then I can keep that in the fore thought as a guide to what my Angel thinks I need to work on monthly. There's no science behind any of this, but in the past it seems to have worked for me.
Along with my monthly Angel thoughts, I've picked a monthly nourishing activity for myself (& us), of which I'll be posting about in the New Year.
New Year, New Decade, New Word ... & it's all about to kick off. I want to wish you all the most wonderful year ahead & thank you for reading my blog posts. I look forward to our chats in 2020 - the year of perfect vision.
Nourish ... that's a great choice. Did it take you long to decide on it or was it obvious to you?
ReplyDeleteI feel 2019 has really whizzed by as well. I'm planning for 2020 to be much slower paced but also the year I change my life around.
I was back & forth on Nourish but this OLW finally settled on me when I was reading the definition of some other choices, & Nourish kept popping up in their descriptions. Plus I had seen what Nourish did for another fellow blogger & I liked it. I must admit though I'm not entirely pleased with my monthly Angel Thoughts ... we'll see how those pan our! I agree with you - 2020 is a year of positive changes.
DeleteSo sorry to hear about the 'Great Sickness'; I do hope you are now on the mend.
ReplyDeleteNourish is a great OLW - I used it two years in a row - 2017 and 2018. I have a new word - all will be revealed soon!
Take care and Happy New Year!
Thanks Ruth, this super cold has gone on for far too long. Looking forward to hearing about your new OLW. I hope I get a good showing with Nourish - your use of it was inspiring! Happy New Year to you, TBO & TBC.
Delete.. oh and Tilly too!
DeleteNourish was a favourite OLW a few years ago. I wondered about revisiting it but have decided to go with something new.
ReplyDeleteNew year and decade sounds exciting doesn't it?
Looking forward to hearing about your new OLW. I am excited about 2020 - I friend of mind is calling it the roaring 20's.
DeleteNourish is a great word, it can be so all encompassing. It is not difficult for me to believe the year is over, but a whole decade - now that is scary. I hope the next one is filled with many blessings for you and yours.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susanne, I wish you a wonderful 2020. I agree, a whole decade! I have plans for Nourish, although I do not participate in any online classes for it, I do make some goals & recaps to help me keep on track.
DeleteI've never chosen a focus word for the year, but this practice sounds like a meaningful one.
ReplyDeleteIt can be stressful, it can be fun ... Ali Edwards the created of OLW has a whole business side to it. I took the online course one year, but the course materials/exercises never really spoke to me, so I do my own thing!
DeleteNourish was my word for 2018. It was a pretty successful one, but not the one that was most transformational. I've chosen my word; the process was quite different from the past. I'll be posting about it soon. Wishing you and Mr. Man a happy and healthy New Year!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen. I look forward to hearing about your OLW for 2020. The first year I used Focus was very productive then I just got suck on it last year. Happy New Year to you & Tracy & yes to healthy for all else will fall into place. :)
DeleteGreat choice of OLW - you can interpret it in so many ways. Hope you are feeling much better now and that you will be starting the new year in good health. Here's to another year of blogging in the new decade x
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about health/diet/well being & my word & I said to Mr Man, we must think of not just feeding ourselves but nourishing ourselves. It took some explaining of what I saw the differences to be. Happy New Year Deb & cheers to a year of blogging.
DeleteI usually do choose a focus word but had not thought of one yet for 2020. I think I just might have to consider "nourish". Good idea. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome & thanks for visiting. Some years I haven't had a word settle on me until well into January.
DeleteCan't think of a better way to start the New Year than to have a brand new goal to aspire to. Good luck with your endeavours!
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris. I much prefer goals to resolutions. Happy New Year.
DeleteNourish is a great word and I hope it works well for you! I'll be posting about my OLW shortly. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheri, so far Nourishing is & has been mostly focused on getting over this super cold virus. I look forward to reading about your OLW. Cheers to 2020.
DeleteHoping that the awful cold virus has finally left you and that you can begin to settle into 'nourish' - a word I've had in the past and really liked and found helpful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alexa. Here it is Jan 6th & I'm still fighting this cold virus - it certainly is a super one! So far I'm settling in well with Nourish.
