Me On A Monday - November 29th

It's the start of the busy festive season & most towns are trying to resume as normal as possible the tradition of the Santa Claus parade.  Last December many were just out right cancelled, but a few like our little village had the parade participants in a stationery position & the public drove by.

This year though, it's bands, dogs dressed as elves, lots of kids on floats & the big guy & his Mrs all decked out. This is a daytime parade of the town just up & over from our little village.  Our village parade is a nighttime event & it's all the farm equipment decked out.

Sunday we had snow & it fell in big white fluffy flakes, it look very much like a snow globe scene. For many, they need the snow to get into the feeling of Christmas.  I was safe & warm inside, crafting a few more cards & trying to get the fur girls to co-operate for their Santa photo ... you've heard the expression, it's like herding cats ...

I cannot show you all the cards I've made, these are just a few of my creations.

But I will share with you, the card I made a few weeks back for the library ladies that went with the box of chocolates. The reading girl & stack of books is from a CTMH stamp & die set, that is on loan to me.

And I love when Canada gets some positive applause around the world ... not sure this video is it; Woody The Talking Christmas Tree made the Australian show, The Project & the USofA Jimmy Fallon show ... you decide cute or creepy.  I'm in the camp of creepy, but yet I cannot look away!

    1. Wonderful card for the library ladies! I do like the books and reader on the front. I used to read like that, walking around! What a nerd I must have been! The parade looks like fun. I hope all stayed safe. Hope also that you managed to conquer the fur girls! Your Christmas cards are lovely; the one top centre of the first pic is so evocative!

      1. Thanks Lady Ella, that card is a re-use front & I added the sparkle trees along with the sparkle border. I was most fortunate to mention about needing something book related & just like that my Zoom crafter friend, said I've got the perfect set for you. I don't think you're a nerd at all - I've been known to read in all sorts of places.

    2. Definitely trending towards creepy for me! Where is it? Well done on your creative Christmas cards - the library one is very cute!

      1. Woody is taking front & centre at the Dartmouth Mall in Nova Scotia. He apparently had been in storage for 15 years & this year got a "face lift". Who ever is doing the talking has one on one conversations with the kids, which is rather creative, but I just cannot get past the creepy eyes! I really like that stamp set.

    3. I think I'm in Team Creepy too!
What lovely cards, you have worked so hard to make so many. The thank you card for the library is perfect, they will be thrilled to receive it!
How lovely to see pictures of the parade, I'm sure the snow added to the atmosphere and gave a great Christmas feeling.

      1. Yes snow certainly helps us with that feeling of Christmas, although I'd vote for snow to arrive maybe on the 20th & be gone by the 30th of December .. NOT arrive 20th of November & be gone by the 30th of April ...

    4. Yikes, that is a creepy tree!!
Goodness, you've been busy of the card creating front - I've written about half a dozen and that's it.
I love, love, love that stamp of the girl reading - it's perfect!

      1. That tree is creepy & the more I see the more it creeps me out. The card making has actually been a boon to reducing my stress. I am using this stamp set a lot while in my possession; I have plans to try to make a Christmas card with her & put her in an ugly Christmas sweater (col).

    5. A great selection of cards---and the library ladies one is really special! I have a bookish stamp on its way to me. I have an older one I've used over and over again, but thought a fresh one was in order since all five grandchildren are getting books this year---with a bookmark, of course! No parades here, but everything was covered with snow when we left for the gym early this morning. Fortunately, the roads were clear.

      1. Thanks Karen - I really like the book stamps from CTMH. Stampin Up has one coming up in the Jan-Jun mini catalogue but no where as nice. Check out Honey Bee's book die/stap set, I think you'll like. I'm not lining up for the parades in areas where folks are not masking. Our public health officer is not on board with the parades - she believes we still need to have stationery floats & people, in their cars, drive by. Our snow was wet & heavy, this morning the roads are clear to make the commute less stressful

    6. Lovely Christmas cards and the "Thanks" card for the library ladies is just perfect! How nice of your crafting friend to lend the stamping kit to you. Good luck with getting the fur babies to pose with Santa! They look like they are more interesting in the box and the tissue paper! Maybe they'd be more impressed by the talking Christmas tree! I love it!

      1. Thanks Bless, the cards have also been a form of therapy over the last few days :)
The fur girls did finally settle into the tissue lined box - they love tissue paper, & I got a few really sweet photos of them individually lying in the box. At least this year Santa was not attacked!

    7. What a great variety of cards!

I haven't been to a Christmas parade in years. It's fun to see yours. What a perfect Santa y'all had!

      1. Thank you. This town's Santa float was quite good. I'm hoping our village farm equipment parade has a good Santa on the combine, he double duties & does a nieghbourhood Christmas Eve walk through the village.

    8. Gosh, that looks and sounds almost 'normal' with the parades and celebrations! (We're back to restrictions here sue to the Omicron variant). How lovely are your cards - and so many different designs ... Your final book-themed one is right up my street - that's a splendid die. I remember giving a bought card to my son years ago (which he still has because it's so appropriate!) which said "I love to party; and by 'party' I mean 'read books'.

      1. So nice to see you popping around Alexa. Since that parade day, things have been slowed/stopped in any re-opening as the numbers are rising, particularly in the school kids, but thankfully we now vaccinated from age 5 & up & are giving boosters to the 50+. I so live by that quote, party means I read books (col).
