Good Morning Everyone.
My garden is currently a riot of colour from the many varieties of cultivated daylilies that I have in the garden. They are one of my most favourite flowers. Roses may be known as the Queen of any flower bed & I've said my Tree Peony is the Duchess, so that must make my daylilies the Marchioness of the garden.
And just for some variety, this is one of my clematis vines, it is having a spectacular summer.
As I work or wander in my garden, I continue to marvel at nature's handiwork. I know that I am very blessed to be living here & give thanks, daily, for my many blessings. I often wish for a longer growing season so I could enjoy more. While there is always something to do, some task that needs seeing to, I've been very deliberate this July to take more than a few moments to just sit in the garden.
Such beautiful flowers, they definitely deserve you to spend time enjoying them before they are past their best!
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb. My garden is my balm, my sanctuary & I continue to marvel at what grows & what doesn't.
DeleteSuch lovely flowers in your garden! Everything looks lush and green, too! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bless. So far there has been a fairly good balance of sun & rain. The abundance of early spring rain set the plants to bloom their best. It's a show I never tire of.
DeleteDaylilies are well-suited to our environment.
ReplyDeleteI find daylilies give back so much for such little effort. They are well suited for the environment of hot dry summers & cold deep snow winters. There is a daylily breeder locally & I try to make it to his open house every year.
DeleteWe have a clematis the same colour as yours, isn't it lovely! Your lilies are beautiful - my giant ones are almost over, but my tiger lilies are just coming into bloom.
ReplyDeleteThe purple are spectacular & I have a deep pink just coming into full glory. I hope you post some photos of your Tiger Lilies.
DeleteIt is wonderful seeing them! I agree with you about enjoying the garden.
ReplyDeleteAs you know Jenn our season is so fleeting, so I am gathering in as many moments as I can. Daylilies are so easy to care for & reward so abundantly.
DeleteHow nice to have lots of things blooming at once. You have a nice variety of day lilies. I can share your joy as I have one too. Only one but I love it! Enjoy your snatched garden moments!

Thanks Lady Ella. I have several other varieties of daylily yet to bloom. Maybe the one you have will inspire you to more! The garden moments need to carry me through the winter :)
DeleteI love your clematis! For some reason we've struggled with those, but finally this year it looks like it will survive. I have beautiful lilies as well--just one variety but many blooms, and our Queen Elizabeth rose which Matt gave us a couple of years ago is producing one beautiful pink bloom after another. I do love the summer!
ReplyDeleteThe garden this year is enjoying the balance of sunshine, rain. I did a lot of reading up on clematis & it is paying off, I have only one that is struggling; I need to move, so it gets much more sunlight. My roses are just starting to blossom, a bit late but I have an insect eating one of them & hand picking isn't doing the job at the moment. Time for something stronger!
DeleteA great source of joy, the products of your efforts married with nature. Beautiful all!
ReplyDeleteI should show photos of all the weeds that are just as prolific in my garden right now with the sun & rain. LOL
