Pairs

Joining in for Pairs on Wednesday with Helena: http://helenascreativemaven.blogspot.ca/

My pairs are some of the peanut lover visitors to my garden.  One is welcomed, one is not.

The Chipmunk, whom we have named Short Tail, as he has lost part of his tail in a tangle with the neighbour’s patrolling cat, he will take peanuts from my hand.

The Red Squirrel, whom we have named Lucy.  She is quite aggressive at times with all who venture into the garden, including me!

    1. Chipmunks are so easily tamed - thankfully Red Squirrels are not. ;)

  3. Great photos; both are pesky animals in our yard!

    1. Thanks. Yes both get a little too comfortable and start begging at the door which drives my two cats crazy, which are total indoor cats.

  4. Veeeery cute, cute cute! And so exotic to me, especially little Mr Chippy Short Tail. Our native red squirrel is a different type, with tufty ears and pretty shy. There are currently (belated) efforts in some areas to control the American grey cousin and encourage the red back. Really hoping for success.

    1. The American Grey has pushed our native Black squirrel around, I don't think anyone can boss the Reds around ;)

    1. Barbara not only do I name most of my garden visitors but we have named our trees - it was MoneyPenny and Mikey that were inoculated.

  6. I remember feeding chipmunks peanuts at my Great Aunt's house - I was always thrilled. I like the red squirrels too but they do get noisy on occasion.

    1. Our Reds seem like they are on drugs, they are SO super hyper active and oh the sounds they make if challenged.

    1. Cute they are, most of the time. My cats view them as entertainment viewed strictly from inside.
