Memos, Mail & Me:It's Monday Feb 13th,

Giving a Monday wave to all & linking in with our hostess Sian at:   From High In The Sky

I got real mail this week!   It was so exciting.  I received this beautiful hand made card from Sian.  I leaked only happiness.  Grateful.

New from the patio - it has been a very snowy few days.  Friday we got about 5cm of snow, Saturday was clear but Sunday another 15cm arrived throughout the day.  Sunday evening was freezing rain with very high winds.  Monday is now contributing to the accumulation of more snow.  It is pretty to look at.  Difficult to drive or walk through.
For Sunday's walk it was the middle of the road for me because neither the road or sidewalk plows had been around.  The snow was wet & slushy from the cars driving through it & I got a soaker!

I am always thankful that all the neighbours with fire hydrants in front of their homes are quickly cleared of snow & easily accessible just in case.

If February give much snow, A fine summer it doth foreshow.         .... then bring it on I say!

    1. Weather patterns are really quite odd this year, Wed has a forecast of rain!

  2. You've gotten quite a bit more snow than we have, though it snowed all night and the winter storm watch has been extended until 11 this morning. Who knows how much it will all add up to? A wonderful card; and a wonderful testament to the world of blogging friendships.

    1. I think our Sunday storm was a combination of a Colorado low sweeping in which then joined up with winds from Lake Huron sweeping down. I am giving an Amen to the testament of Blog Friendships!

  3. It certainly is pretty to look at, but I'm sure you are getting tired of it and the cold by now. I hope Spring is just round the corner for you.

    That arrived pretty quickly :)

    1. Thanks to mail delivery ... if we get bitter dry cold, I find it easier to take than the raw damp cold, that one seeps into the bones.

  4. Beautiful card from Sian and beautiful snow! It snowed all weekend here but it was more like dandruff and just a nuisance! Very cold now. Hope your rhyme has the ring of truth!

  5. What a lovely card from Sian. Handmade is always such a pleasure to receive. You'd laugh if you could have seen the pitiful effort at snow we had on Saturday! Have a great week.

    1. The card has such a lovely texture to it, which I am sure my photo does not do it justice. Sometimes the little amounts of snow cause the most havoc on the roads, some people remain too bold for the conditions.

    1. You should check out what our eastern provinces reached in the last couple of days - some areas have accumulated over 100cm of snow! So in our area we really cannot (or shouldn't) complain too much.

    1. Jane I am hopeful everyone will have a glorious summer, I don't think it is the comparison amount of snow, just a lot for your area ...

  8. We had a fair amount of snow last week too - but mostly melted and gone now. Sidewalk plows? I never heard of that. Are your homeowners not required to shovel their own sidewalks?

    1. Cheri each city & town makes the plow your own sidewalk rule, our little village has village plowing plus a volunteer group that will shovel driveways for free if you are able to do yourself. The city of Toronto has the rule homeowners must clear the sidewalk in front of their home. Plus I am thankful we don't have sidewalks on our side of the road! Usually in little villages it is only one side of the street with sidewalks ...

    1. Compared to eastern Canada we have just a little snow, they have a lot! In some regions there has been over 100cm of snow, so it must mean that the maritime provinces are going to be the hot spot for a glorious summer (col).

    1. Yes our Sian does makes beautiful cards. I keep telling myself that the snow is good for the moisture in puts into the ground as we had such a dry summer last year.
