Memo, Mail & Me - It's Monday November 6th

Gracious me, it's Monday strolling in already. It was a very wet, damp dark weekend with lots of rainfall both Saturday & Sunday.

For a memo this past Sunday was the date on the calendar to turn our clocks back an hour.  We have a lot of clocks in our house!  Thankfully, computers, security systems & the TV all look after themselves.
In the mail, we received an invitation to attend a showing of designer jewelry from our local jewelry store.  Over the summer I had taken in several rings to be repaired & sized,  now we are on their hit  invitation list.  I do like jewelry but I really have more than enough.  When Mr Man gets stuck in what to buy me for birthday, anniversary or Christmas, he gets me earrings.  Some of my favourites are my pearl & diamond studs or all the blue opals from Australia.  I tend to wear stud earrings rather than dangling ones.

For me, I was sorting through my 2018 planners & have them ready to transfer dates & appointments in.  This year I have gone with a smaller desk daytimer without all the fancy extra pages.  I haven't used them in years so I decided against the expensive version. Simple is the key word for 2018.  I keep a small slim line for my purse.

Staying with me, I attended another card marking workshop Sunday night.  At this time of year I am really cautious driving at night with all the wildlife about, especially the deer.  Even with putting the clocks back an hour, it was very dark both driving there & coming home as we had torrential  rains all day/evening Sunday, so that added to the darkest of the roads.  But fun time making the cards.

From my fall 2 weeks ago, I am feeling loads better, although still stiff in my neck & turning my head to either left or right is tight & difficult but I think it's not as bad as that Monday.  Hoping everyone has a fab week ahead.

  1. I'm always cautious about deer right now, too. We had thunder and lightning yesterday, did you? -Jenn

  2. I use an academic diary (Sept - Aug) so transferring info to the next year is always a job for during the summer break.

Glad to hear you're feeling a much better from your fall and hope the residual stiffness is sorted soon.

    1. When I was training I used such a fancy planner & I kept buying even after I stopped training, it was part of my hope to return to my chosen career. So many beautiful planners & calendars in the shops at this time of year, sometimes hard to resist!

  3. I should think that you're wise to be mindful of deer and the like when driving in the dark.
I also have 2018's pocket diary ready to go - school holidays are already marked and I just need to add all the birthdays and anniversaries. Next year, for the first time, I'm having a planner specifically for blogging (I splurged on a Get to Work Book).
Glad to hear that you are feeling better.

    1. Deer are so fast & they never survive an encounter with a vehicle & I know should it be me that hit one, I'd be sick for ever about it - such a beautiful delicate creature. I must check out that Get To Work planner - Elise G's I think...

  4. I've been using a combination of two planners the last several years. It works well for me, but I just ordered a new one that I hope will fill the bill by itself. We had torrential rains here as well as thunder and lightening. We just heard the weather report for the week ahead--a high of 29° on Thursday. Brrr! I'm not quite ready for this. Your clock is gorgeous!

    1. I really don't have that much to plan so nothing fancy required, mine are mostly for keeping track of Mr Man's time (col). I didn't see any lightening, just heard the thunder. I am SO not ready for winter, I want more time with my tea on the patio! We really like that clock, took us ages to find one that suited both of us.

  5. Glad you are well on the mend, and mortified that I mailed you in the week and neglected to ask!! Sorry - I'll put myself on the naughty step in a minute. :o(
How are Mr Man's eyes and is the new doc at the local hospital confident of successful treatment?
We did our clocks last week and I managed to have decent sleep patterns for about three days afterwards. Didn't last long!!
Glad you enjoyed your card workshop. Hope you were pleased with your results.

    1. No worries, we had other important news to discuss (col). I am somewhat pleased with my 3 card creations, it was a bigger attended class so not as much time with the instructor & everyone knows everyone (but me) so it was a chat of catchup & I am still an unskilled stamper, I need more instruction ... Mr Man's eyes, well the next visit end of month require a scan to see if the injections ARE helping.

  6. When my husband was stuck on a gift for me, he too went for jewelery...I wear the same sentiment jewelry every day.
I told him many years ago No More...which my friends think I'm crazy for, lol.
I used to always use a day planner, but in the binder form with inserts....I have been enjoying the Recollections brand from last year and purchased a new one for 2018...but I do like to add my own touch to the pages :)

  7. Glad you are feeling better. My daughter met a deer on the road last week when she was taking my mum home. Fortunately she stopped in time and the only casualty was a tray of eggs that shot from the back seat onto the floor.

    1. I think the eggs are a better cost to a miss to a deer - they can cause so much damage to person & vehicle, some are quite large plus I would be sick if I hit one.

  8. We just got our clocks turned back today as we just got home yesterday. During the two weeks we were gone we went forward six hours, then back an hour, then forward an hour, then back and hour, then forward six hours. :|

I haven't decided on my 2018 calendar/planner yet . . . I usually have it all picked out by now. You're ahead of me with yours all picked out!
