Take Three Thursday - Winter

In an effort to notice more of the ordinary in my life, I have decided to share what I have noticed this week in Take Three Thursday.   The idea is to take photos that are linked some how; by theme, by colour, by date, by moment,  by points of view. There is no formal link in but please feel free to join in. What have you noticed this week?

This week, I & everyone in southern Ontario could not but help to notice that Ms Winter indeed arrived & she shared her bounty with us on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day.  Temperatures have dipped as low as -22 (c) with a wind chill factor of making in more like -35 (c).  Day time highs have only risen to -14(c) with a wind chill of -21 (c).  Boxing day the sun shone very brightly all day & was very welcomed indeed.

So this is what winter is currently looking like in my area - snow, bitter cold & very strong winds.

Pay attention. Cultivate awareness. Life cannot be lived fully or joyfully if our thoughts are focused on regretting the past,
preoccupied with anticipating the future, or lost in the mind-fog of unconscious habitual behavior. - Jonathan Lockwood Huie

  1. The quote you share here is a helpful reminder as I try to focus on the present moment. Thx!

Our "bitter cold" means lows of 18 and no chance at all of snow, so I'm loving your photos. Beautiful!

    1. Glad you liked the quote - I've collected quite a few new to me ones over the holidays. I will posting photos of the Hoar Frost

    2. I'll look forward to the hoar frost photos :)

We're getting lows of 9 here. The birdbaths are frozen solid, tho, poor things. It's hard to keep water available. I need one of those electric ones.

  2. How on earth do you cope with such cold temperatures? We rarely get below -4 and that's cold enough!

    1. Our region broke 100 year temperature low records on Wednesday for this time of year. Most of us look rather suspicious as faces & every other body part is covered - only eyes are peeking out from under on hats & scarves.

  4. Looks much the same in Rochester. Here is Chicago it is bitter cold (6° high today), but they don't have as much snow. Stay warm. It's supposed to last awhile.
