Take Three Thursday - Colourful Joy

In an effort to notice more of the ordinary in my life, I have decided to share what I have noticed this week in Take Three Thursday.   The idea is to take 1 - 3 photos that are linked some how; by theme, by colour, by date, by moment,  by points of view. There is no formal link in but please feel free to join in.   What have you noticed this week?

This week will be my last Take Three post for the year.

This week I'm noticing the colours of Christmas.  What are your favourite seasonal combos?

"Colour, what a deep & mysterious language, it is the images of dreams."

  1. I'm pretty traditional - the reds, greens, and golds are my favourites. I like slightly different takes on the greens- sage greens, bright "spring" greens, etc. I also love the look of ivory and gold combinations. Not much of a blue person. -Jenn

    1. We have one house in the neighbourhood that does their house in all blue lights - I must admit I'm hard pressed to think Christmas, but at least there's lights (col). I do like some of the blue & silver ornaments which to me signify the snow.

  2. These are beautiful images! I love all the different Christmas color combos. The silver & blue feels so clean and modern. I also love the newer lime green/hot pink variant of green/red. And peacock colors. But this year I'm decorating the table with a hunter green tablecloth base and then a lot of white and gold. If I pull it off, it'll be my first year actually purposefully doing a "Christmas" table!

    1. Oh Cheri that table decoration sounds gorgeous, please post some photos. I've seen a few trees with the gradual colour change from one colour to another, it's neat to look at but not sure I'd live with it.

  3. I think red green and gold will always signify Christmas to me. A few years ago a lot of people changed to blue and silver but while it always looks a pretty combination, I still prefer the traditional.

    1. There is a lady in town that makes these wreaths & while I don't own one, I like to admire those I see. I have noticed that red, green & gold are the most seen colour combos this year.

  6. The decorations here are primarily red and green, but I also love silver and blue. One of my favorite cards this year was a modern hot pink, lime green and blue. I wouldn't choose to have my house decorated in those colors, but I loved the way the card turned out.

    1. My favourite colour combo is petal pink with apple green but not sure I would Christmas decorate with those colours (col) OK maybe I would if it was just me. I got some blue & purple Christmas paper which I can't wait to use.

    1. I think there are so many options of colour combos, anything would would for Christmas but I like many stick with mostly the green & red combos.

  8. I'm not taken with the black trees but they do look stunning with the jewel tones and silver/golds I've seen with them. White trees are also very fashionable here.

I like fairly traditional - green, brown as a neutral, red/plaids, touches of gold and silver.

    1. Oh I don't think I'd like a black tree. We saw another regular (faux) tree with lots of purple & silver ornaments - pretty but please I'll take the traditional ...

  9. My, that's a very splendid and clever wreath, that top one. I struggle a bit with red and green as they were the colours of my school uniform! I can manage to go with greens, golds and peachy-oranges :).

    1. Ah the school memories, they do get in the way sometimes. I like green & gold together, very rich. I've also seen green with a rust colour which is quite elegant.
