Five In Five On The 5th - July

Five In Five On The 5th is Sandi's lovely meme, please join with me in seeing what everyone else has shared at : itchifingers

I finally have something to share & I am just squeaking in with my July submission for Five.  I had taken lots of photos in the garden on the 5th, but I felt I have shared so much, BUT finally I did something off the patio.  I had an afternoon adventure, which became a rather spontaneous time for me.  My friend & I did have plans for lunch, but locally as I had to be in to work & as always she had several other things to take care of in that time frame.  She is one of those ladies that believes she can accomplish so many things within a shortage of time, but that is a whole other blog post. I believe the Universe has sent me her to help me with being spontaneous, because she is that & more!  I was late to work ...

We ended up having lunch at a little inn in a small village east of where we live.  Both of us have eaten at the inn before but not since the new owners took over.  It once had very formal flower beds & was known for its afternoon tea.  Now it has been re-invented as a international fine dining establishment with an overtone of Italian Renaissance, well that's what the menu says.

Oh what the heck, I'll break the 5 photo rule & show you the dining room & what we ate ... the bread was worth all the carb breaking rules.

Main Dining Room

Quiche with salad & cheese stuffed crepes

    1. The whole of this little village is quite quaint & the revitalization of the inn/restaurant has been a boon to the village. I will visit again with Mr Man.

  2. I am in need of a bit of reality orientation this morning. I have been sent into mad panic that I have missed the 5th of the month with both you and Karen posting your 5 in 5s! Looks like a beautiful setting for a restaurant and scrumptious looking food. No wonder you were late back to work. I could have stayed in that garden all day!

    1. There was a huge white tent set up for either a wedding coming up & that had happened, so I need to go back on a Saturday to check for another wedding to cross off that item on the PSH. In the garden, you would definitely need bug spray on, those ponds were full of mosquitoes!

  5. Oh Mary-Lou, you did make me laugh! What the heck indeed - I broke my own rule this month too. Sometimes it just has to be done! LOL
That looks a lovely place for lunch, and aren't friends like this a blessing! We all need someone to have adventures with - I hope you didn't get into trouble for being late for work!
Thank you for taking part this month and I wonder what antics you and your friend will get up to next?!

    1. our next adventure is this weekend, she's showing her horse & I get to be her groom for the weekend; always rushed mixed with test pressure not good combinations & dressage is a perfectionist discipline - one of us could have battle scars afterwards!
