Me On A Monday April 1st Is No Joke

Happy April 1st - I say welcome to a new month rich with promise & opportunity.

Source: Internet

This is what we woke up to Sunday morning:
I guess for us March truly went out like a lion

Before the Sunday snow from earlier last week, look who's back.  Front Chippy
Reading more of Louise Penny's murder mysteries in Three Pines ... it is starting to remind me very much of Midsomer - it's a wonder anyone is left alive!  I am trying to read in order; Book 2 Dead Cold & Book 3 The Cruellist Month.  I think I will take a little break from murder ... something a little more cheerful before I begin Book 4 The Murder Stone.

As the newly fallen snow melts, I will continue to remind myself
"No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn & April is a promise that May is bound to keep"

  1. The snow must end sometime soon surely? You must be so fed up with it!
I go through phases of reading similar types of books, and then need a totally different style. I signed up for Leslie's online book club and that has led to me finding some books that I wouldn't otherwise have read. This month it is Next Year in Havana - I'm three chapters in and really enjoying it!

    1. Thanks for book recommendation. I really like the characters in all of Louise Penny's books, but just like friends, you need a break sometimes. (col). I am more than fed up with winter overall, it's the coats, the boats, the hats etc so much effort to get outside. (I know moan moan).

  2. It was quite the snow fall wasn't it? You are really working your way through Louise Penny's books! I preferred some over others, but they were all good. Let's hope the snow melts this week. -Jenn

    1. Pretty but more than enough snow for me. I have read two of the series out of order & decided I needed to read in order to see the development of the characters. I just read the last one Kingdom of The Blind & I read The Great Reckoning out of order. Right from book one I did not like Peter, so now I am really anxious to know (in order) what happened to him. Glad you're back =^..^=

    1. So far it is still around & the forecast isn't showing much of higher temperatures :(

As I said I'm hanging on to April's promise ...

  4. We woke up to a similar scene this morning---"April Fool's" my husband said! "Enough, already," is my response. I've read all the Louise Penny books but I started them years ago so it's rare that I read even two in a row. I did have to catch up before starting the last one.

    1. I read Kingdom of The Blind out of order because it was available on the lightening round at the library. She has announced her latest book will be published in August (A good man) & she's on a book tour in France & England this month - oh to be in Paris in the spring ... I'm more than fed up with snow :)

    1. I think Old Man Winter is picking a fight with Lovely Miss Spring ... it may seem like he's had the final word but just you wait Spring will show her true glory soon, yes soon, come hurry up .... (cl).

  7. Oh oh oh :o( Much as I love snow, I like it in winter and would not be impressed to see it now that we've had a taste of blue skies and blossom. That said, it snowed on my first birthday (as my parents tell me every year!) I hope this is just one final goodbye from winter, to you.

    1. We are enjoying beautiful blue skies today but very chilly. I am sad to say we have had snow in May, so I doubt this will be the last snow ...

  8. Oh goodness, I hope that snow is gone now! We have sunshine & gorgeous days here, but it's really (really!) windy today so I'm staying in and hoping all the pollen blows away. :)
