Me on Monday - January 4th, 2021

Currently: I am so far, wordless for One Little Word.  I have spent some quiet time, some busy time, but nothing is settling on me. I thought about re-using last year's word, Nourish, but I think I'm done with that word for now.  If a word does settle on me, I can always play catch up.

Currently:  I'm now going to show the craft I made back in early December. These are tent desk calendars & were small enough to fit inside a Christmas card or birthday card.

Currently : Slowly putting Christmas away, everyday one or two items into the box, it's easier on Mr Man if Christmas is put away slowly (col) & we agreed the trees will come down this week after Epiphany.  This is an ornament that our westerly neighbours gave us this year.

Currently: Waiting on the next batch of books from the library.  In my Christmas pick up, the library put in a new book marks & I think this one is an excellent reminder for us to stay home & read.

And now on to 2021, January, chapter 1 of 12 & each day a blank page to start a new.

  1. The last of Christmas is boxed up and about to go into the loft any minute now - although it makes everything look a bit bare, it's kind of nice to have a good clean through the house.
I like that quote on the bookmark!

    1. I just wish more people were staying home reading as they are suppose to be; if not reading watching TV but just staying home & stop providing this virus ways of continuing!

  2. That is indeed a great quote from your thoughtful library. Your little calendars are very sweet as well as useful, and what a lovely surprise it must have been for the recipients to open a card and find one in it! Your little owl has such a wide-eyed innocent look - my little grand-daughter, at seventeen months, has a current obsession with owls and would love this. Being relaxed about a word not finding you yet sounds a kind way forward - and there's plenty of year ahead ...

    1. I was quite surprised by this gift & I like owls although we see so few in our area now. I wonder what it is about an owl that fascinates your Granddaughter? Being wordless is feeling more & more comfortable.

  3. I am also currently wordless, but I think one is slowly making its presence felt.
All that we have left to put away is our Christmas tree - I just need to find the will to force it back into its box! :)

    1. Today the Christmas stuff is bugging me but I can get to Wednesday, it's for a good cause, making Mr Man happy with the twinkle lights on every night.

  4. Nice tree dec from the neighbours! Sorry to hear that you are currently OLWless. I hope you are inspired soon. You usually seem to be, though I understand the difficulties as it is something I haven't ever got to grips with.

    1. I'm feeling that being wordless is OK, I'm not really fussing over it as I thought I would. I was very surprised to receive the tree ornament, we just cannot figure these folks out, hot & cold, but that's OK too (col).

  5. The owl is delightful. Lucky you! I took down my front door display today but haven't started on anything else.

    1. I've started on the collection of everything Christmas through the upstairs to bring it all together in one spot, so nothing gets lost or forgotten in the great pack away (col).

  6. It is the perfect quote for the times. I feel very fortunate that reading has been easy for me during the pandemic; I know others have had difficulty staying focused. I upped my reading goal for 2021--hope that wasn't foolhardy, and I can keep it up. Your calendars are lovely, and a thoughtful gift. My MIL collected owls for many years, but I think they were all lost in a house fire.

    1. I got a few books for my birthday & Christmas which I had kept aside for I knew back in August we'd be in another lockdown come the new year - so I'm ready to read my own books in between the library waits. I've had friends that collected owls, & one collected pigs. How awful to loose everything in a house fire.

  8. I love the owl ornament. The bookmark is a thoughtful inclusion. I'm committed to using our public library as soon as I start getting back out. Books are certainly helping me cope :)

    1. We have a great library & I am most thankful for it.

I have liked your recent blog posts, I have read some of the comments from your post yesterday. Let's hope something is done quickly & that, that something prevents him running in 2024. Let the Republican party rebuild itself.

    2. I'm afraid if he sets his heart on 2024 we'll be in for a rough 4 years :(

  9. I've decided not to choose a word this year as nothing really settled on me either. Those tent desk calendars are lovely. We got all our decorations put away slowly as we reorganized this year and relabeled all the boxes.

That's such a great bookmark! Since I read so much last year, one of my to-read shelves was completely empty...but I might have gotten a few new books for Christmas & just maybe ordered a few more this week to be sure there's plenty to choose from. :) Happy New Year!
