Christmas Wisdom

The first Christmas was pretty simple.  It is OK if yours is too.

" .. for it is good to be children sometimes and never better than at Christmas, when its mighty Founder was a child himself."
... Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol

  1. Truthfully, our Christmas has changed very little since our kids left home. The only missing piece is the Christmas Eve service in person. I'm quite content to keep the same menu basically the same decorations year after year. There's always a bit of tweeking with the decorations, but Christmas dinner hasn't changed much in years!

  2. Christmas is always a simple celebration for me. My family now has the added excitement of a Christmas Day birthday but in many ways, I still follow the way we celebrated during our childhood.

  3. Oh I like this. So good to refocus on the real reason for the season.

  4. I love seeing the excitement of Christmas through the eyes of our grandchildren, it makes you realise that it is the little things that mean the most.

  5. Last Christmas was very dull and dreary so I may go a bit overboard this year to make up!

  6. Perfect! We just had my niece and newest 10-month-old great-niece here for a week, and it was so beautiful to watch the baby stare at the tree and try to pull the wrapping paper off her very first Christmas gift and clap her hands when I sang Christmas carols to her!
