Me On A Monday - June 3rd - TGIF

Source: Internet
Good morning all - bet you were wondering if I was confused (again) when I titled this post, Me on A Monday & then co-titled it with TGIF.  Most people think of TGIF as Thank Goodness It's Friday, but I have a new reference to this acronym, thanks to Dr . Brene Brown.  You can read about it here: TGIF - A Weekly Practice

TGIF = Trust, Grateful Inspired & Fun

So today;

Trusting: that June's Angel Thought; Answered Prayer, is right on the nose, on the mark, on the money ...

Our church's prayer garden of which I am part of a team trying to bring some tidiness to.

Grateful: for the kindness of other bloggers.  Divers & Sundry helped me discover the name of a book I have longed search for.  I didn't know the author or the name of the book, but in a comment on her blog I mentioned the main character's name & the jest of the story.  She knew it right away.  I now have this book on order.  The book is called An Episode of Sparrows by Rumer Godden, it was my Mother's favourite book from school & she would read it to me. I hope reading it my self will re-connect me with my Mother (in spirit).
Inspired:  Nature's resolve to just get on with the job of blooming, growing, being.  Truly bloom where you are planted.

Fun: stamping & making cards at my monthly workshop.

So what's your TGIF?

  1. Oh that's a new TGIF, haven't heard that before.
Trust - Trusting and hoping that the specialist my daughter sees today will be able to help her with her post-natal anxiety issues.
Grateful - for so much, currently top of the list is my family and the way we group together to support one another
Inspired - to continue with my yoga classes but boy do they make me realise how little flexibility I have!
Fun - Zumba classes - I love them and always feel uplifted after an hour of dancing.

    1. Deb those are awesome TGIFs ... I am beginning to realize how little I moved over the winter as gardening season begins in earnest!

    1. Thanks Jenn. The card with the 3 circles & bird was a change up from what the instructor had in mind.

    1. I'm going to try in on for feel, I think that Me On Monday needs a little fresh paint (col). So please join in. I think the intention was to post on Fridays, but I just cannot add another day of posting at the moment, so for me it will be in my Monday post, for now. Of course never say never ...

  4. Your church prayer garden is lovely even in its "untidy" state, so I can imagine how serene it will be once y'all have done your work.

Thanks for the hat tip :) I am so happy I could help with that book. Rumer Godden is an author worth re-reading :) The spring-blooming trees have been especially enthusiastic this year, I think. I like the TGIF idea.

    1. You have no idea how thrilled I was that finally someone knew this book. It's one of the reasons I'm glad to have discovered your site & blogging.

  5. Ooh, I like this idea ...
Trusting: that The Boy Child remembers everything he's learned during travel training.
Grateful: for unexpected last minute invitations and dog walker friends able to have Tilly for a few hours.
Inspired: by seeing the D Day veterans heading back to Normandy.
Fun: texting with my brother while simultaneously catching a glimpse of him on a TV program.

I may borrow this idea, if I may, and produce a post that links back to you.

    1. Please Ruth feel free to take the idea & use. Dr Brene Brown is a favourite of mine. That is quite a TGIF for you, I think I would cry seeing the veterans at Normandy, so thankful, grateful & in awe of all that gave & did.

  7. Interesting TGIF. No I didn't think you were confused, but I did wonder what was coming...
You go from strength to strength in the card crafting department. Brava!

    1. Lady Ella thanks for that vote of confidence. Technology & me these last few days have me really shaking my head, which brings me to ask, have you got your computer/internet issues resolved? I really like the bird card with the circles, I would do this card style again.

    2. After two weeks, the computer is back, restored to factory settings, and after many hours I have reinstalled printer, antivirus and other software. I have not yet checked my back-up to see if the photos and other files were correctly saved... because today I discovered that the photo editing software (which came bundled on the computer) no longer functions as it did before, and is far more limited than previously. I can't even resize pictures any more, for blogging. The software is no longer commercially available so I am feeling pretty downbeat generally. After having been without the computer for almost two weeks, I'll probably have to send it away again ... and research, choose and pay more for some decent picture software. It's not even the money that's the biggest downer - it's the waste of time and continued inability to get on with stuff! :o( Sorry - but thank you for asking Mary-Lou. Sorry you've had issues too.

    3. Lady Ella that all sounds SO frustrating. Already 2 weeks away & still not fixed!! (grrrr). At home one of our computers is older (maybe 5-7 yrs old) no more support & it's getting slower & slower & will need replacing. At work we are struggling with getting the scan function to work (1) just work (2) work easily without adding steps to the function. We scan all reports to a patient's file so really necessary to be easy. It seems everyone with technology wants to put their hand in our pockets!

  8. Love this TGIF! I think I'll try to participate on Fridays. We'll see how consistent I can be. Another set of lovely cards, and I'm another fan of the prayer garden, untidy or not. Just the idea of a prayer garden is excellent!

    1. I look forward to any TGIF posts you come up with. I'm not sure TGIF will be Friday posts for me (never say never). The area designated as the prayer garden is actually quite quiet, we have a bird bath now & we may install a feeder to bring in song birds, although we need to be aware that there's a home right against the edge of the garden, where he has a clothes line - birds pooping on his fresh laundry won't endear the church to him!!!

  9. TGIF, what a nice idea for a blog post. Like Karen, I think I will give this a try on Fridays. But it is a good frame of mind to be thinking from now until then - thanks for that! Your cards are lovely, I have been wanting to do some stamping for a couple of weeks, but seem to get sidetracked by other projects in the studio - cleaning, mostly. I guess that's not all bad.

    1. Thanks Susanne. I'm getting braver with stamping & I like that I now use stamps within my scrap pages. I'm looking forward to seeing your Friday TGIF posts. I'm even considering switching up from Monday posts to Friday posts ... have to sit with that idea for a bit. Change is as good as a rest, so I'm told. :)

  10. I really like your bird-themed cards ... And thank-you for the TGIF inspiration! A prayer garden sounds like such a welcome place to be - well done you for working to make it even more welcoming.

    1. We are using straight white vinegar to kill the weeds between the paving stones, if we pull we often don't get the root & they come right back. It sounds so brutal to talk about killing the weeds especially in a prayer garden!
