This is a rock garden of thanks set up outside our hospital by the many communities it serves & is continually added to. These photos were taken about a week ago by a lady in our community FaceBook group.
The nurse who lives across the street from us, works there. I try to applaud her every time I see her go out for her shift. I give thanks every day for our health care system.
That's a lovely way of thanking the hospital staff.
ReplyDeleteThe display, which grows daily, is near where staff enter the hospital so they can see & hopefully be encouraged during these difficult times.

DeleteIt's a great idea, and a wonderful way to express the gratitude we all must feel! One of our good friends is an ICU nurse in Washington, D.C. The stress is unbelievable. She was supposed to go with us on a tour this summer---now cancelled. I hope she'll see some relief before then.
ReplyDeleteI am sure many of your health care workers are stressed knowing that if plans go ahead as reported, it will be disastrous ... Let's hope for your friend's sake, reason prevails. So many plans cancelled :(
DeleteWhat a thoughtful tribute! Hospital workers are heroes on the front lines as we struggle to come to terms with this.
ReplyDeleteIt is a wake up call (I hope) of who are the true heroes are. I have always admired those that go into the helping/fixing/curing professions - they have the right stuff. And when this pandemic is done (& it will be) that our applause & admiration continues.

ReplyDeleteI was also impressed with supernurse. Such skill in those rocks. The rocks about our village are increasing in numbers & designs. I know it helps people feel they are doing something to recognize our fabulous health care workers.

ReplyDeleteMy friend has been sending me photos of the big signs posted along the roads going to the hospital - amazing. So afterwards will we remember them in this most appreciative way?

ReplyDeleteI think there are many "rock" gardens being created everywhere. I guess the pot banging, clapping was not enough or people are looking for creative ways of saying thank you.

ReplyDeleteI think the rock garden will continue to grow for a few more months & if they do remove I hope they place along the staff parking entrance.
DeleteWhat a lot of talent and kindness is in these little stones! A very nice project, full of love and brightness - I hope anyone who passes has time to stop and stare for a moment and feel appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI am amazed daily about the kindness of strangers. The medical community tell us they appreciate us staying home & following the guidelines regarding this pandemic.
