Take Three Thursday - Simply & Beautiful

In an effort to notice more of the ordinary in my life, I have decided to share what I have noticed this week in Take Three Thursday.   The idea is to take 1 - 3 photos that are linked some how; by theme, by colour, by date, by moment,  by points of view. There is no formal link in but please feel free to join in.    What have you noticed this week?

This week my threesome are from my garden.  My tree peony, which was late blooming this year but I was most thankful for the bloom as I was a little concerned for its survival over the winter.  She, surely is one of the queens of the garden, majestic with blooms that command attention.  I did have one year where she bloomed with 7 magnificent flowers but I'm really not comparing ... just thankful she has survived & gifted me with 4 this year.

No changes for the summer for my Take Three Thursday posts.

  1. So lovely! I'm always surprised by the difference between the blooming times in our area and yours. We don't seem to be that far away from one another, yet my tree peony bloomed nearly a month ago. I think the flowers on yours are more beautiful than ours.

    1. Both my tree peony & herbaceous peonies were late this year. With the sudden heat & humidity everything seems to be playing catch up all at once. It's quite a riot of colour in the garden right now.

  2. I think peonies may be my favourite flower. I'd love to have some in my garden but don't think I have enough space for them. Yours is gorgeous - I love the colour.

    1. I like the scent of the herbaceous peonies. My tree peony doesn't seem to have any scent at all & the bees don't bother with it either - it seems this one is all about being showy (col). I too like the colour.

  3. I've never had peonies. Those are gorgeous!

    1. I would like to add a Fern Leaf Peony to my garden but those are too expensive for my gardening budget at the moment. I do tend to be more protective of this type of peony than the herbaceous type of peony, which can be more sulky than the Tree type.

  4. Loving those frilly petals and lush leaves - they really are beautiful. A trio of pretty views!

    1. Tree peony flowers, the petals are like tissue paper in both texture & feel.

  5. Peonies are absolutely beautiful aren't they? So delicate and pretty. Ours are just coming to an end here in the UK.

    1. With such a cold spring everything in the garden has waited to bloom & now the queens (peonies) are really putting on a show.

  6. Your tree peony is lovely, such a beautiful shade of pink. Ours is a much darker pink and finished blooming weeks ago.

    1. Thank you. I'd like a darker pink one too. I saw a yellow Tree Peony in a open tour garden & now I want one - it was such a delicate shade of yellow, almost like melted butter.

  7. Lovely flowers. And as a long-time convert to Lutheranism, I never knew old Martin could be so poetic. He's pretty black and white about Biblical truths. ;-)

    1. We have lots to give thanks for with Martin Luther, including his poetry like quotes. :)

  8. One of my favourite flowers. None for me this year - but I will enjoy yours instead and hope mine deliver next year.
Martin Luther said/wrote many quotable things, did he not? An interesting person.

    1. I have been quite surprised by Martin Luther's writings, not the angry man I heard about in Sunday school. I now have the herbaceous peonies blooming, which are the princesses to the queen Tree Peony

    1. Thanks Karen. I was doubtful I'd get any so the 4 were a huge reward.
